1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

I had a single cab DD. I'm 5'10" and had the bench seat locked fully back to drive it. Swapped in 280z buckets. They were comfortable but my knees were so close to the dash with seat back upright and locked fully back wasn't ideal.

 

I recently acquired 95.5 single cab 4x4 3.4, now has 214+ miles and runs great. I have a egr vacuum modulator valve on the way which should clear the engine light, the egr port into throttle body was packed with carbon.

 

On a different vehicle, I've found the EGR tube and port completely clogged with carbon. It can be tough to clean up. They sure run better when you get everything cleaned up.

 

1st gen v6 is a want for me.... can’t deny that

 

I ordered one of the 6db gain Aussie style antennas to mount on the ARB. Now I need to make up my mind about a radio.. Ha!

I'm tempted to start off with a Bangfuk

BF-F8HP handheld. I hear Midland has a new MXT575 50-watt in the works for later this year.

 

It was nearly rock hard in there. My idle went from normal (around 750 rpm) to between 1500-2000. Right about the time the cel kicked back on the computer had corrected the idle back into normal range. We'll see what a new vacuum modulator does and start again.

 

This weather is killing me. Was all ready to do some painting annd....42 degrees and rainy. Ohhh well.

 

A little warmer but the same scene down here. Kinda depressing.

 

Thats spring for ya I guess. Las weekend was beautiful here, and next weekend is looking decent too.

Yeah, not an enjoyable thing. Looks like severe weather warnings across tx panhandle and western ok tonight.

Probably hail too. So much hail in that area.

 

I've always felt that the double din sits too low for the 1st gen. That's why I went single din in my 99.

 

Hell no to hail.

 

Seems like a single din and a GPS that mounts up higher is a better option for us, depending on what features one needs.

No kidding. My house in west texas had a new roof when I moved in. Insurance co gave me a new one when I moved out 4 years later, due to hail.

And the nissan got caught in a hail storm a few months before I left too.

 

Damn. I had one vehicle get damaged by hail. I had comprehensive insurance that covered it. I don't have that now. West Texas gets some wicked hail storms.

 

Yeah its not terrible. Geico put me at like $2800 worth of damage. I had comprehensive on a high deductible plan, so they gave me $300


Not worth fixing on a 10 year old nissan.

 

This was the setup I was running in the Taco.

 

Fun part is i had a couch in the back at the time, so the bed remains dent free
