You can't sell me the reliability of those jeeps. I have 160k and wife has 110k, I've worked on that jeep more. Those jeep engines are TRASH

Just buy a Frontier they sell these trucks all over the world in areas where people do epic shit. The Tacoma well it's a bean counters North American wet dream, designed for the look, but going to the mall.

What I learned about the guitar shit with my strat is when it's time to sell and if you don't have the stock parts, plan on parting it out which I did

Ironman Foamcell 3" lift, ARB dual compressor, GoPro mount, BadElf mount, Drive grab handle, RCI skids, Victory sliders, half rack, TuffStuff Alpha ll RTT, Dometic 75 Fridge, extra USB & Outlets
I have a 3gen Tacoma, because I need a pickup for other stuff and I like Toyota pickups and I find it more comfortable than a Jeep. My 2013 JKUR Rubicon was a goat, it would go anyplace with the Dana 44’s with front and rear lockers, 4:1 transfer case, sway bar disconnect and I added a 3” lift and AEV bumpers and 33” tires, but on long trips I got tired really quick and when I got out of the Jeep, my back was really hurting.
if you like a Jeep and you find it comfortable I would get the Gladiator Rubicon, straight out of the box it is probably the most capable for Offroad vehicle in a pickup. I have a good friend with a 2018 JLUR and I hate getting in & out of it.
I can live with my Tacoma not being as capable as the Jeep Rubicon, but the Tacoma will get a lift, 32 or 33” tires. Right now is it too much $$$ for a front locker and gears or a Marlin Crawler transfer case if he makes one for this gen. Plus I don’t do rock crawling anymore, but I would like to be able to Climb the wall on Poughkeepsie Gulch.

To be fair, the main reason people buy a Taco for "extreme off roading" is because they won't sell us a Hilux or 79LC in this country.

Toyota knows this country is not what it use to be, and that if they did the soys would be bitching that is doesn't have X, X and X.

I found the focus group that denied the HiLux for the North American market

    Work in progress...
That ZR2 is an awesome truck out of the box. I don't know what I would change on it? I bought a jeep like that once, it was really cool but it always felt like I was driving someone else's jeep. I don't go extreme off roading but I do enjoy exploring in the desert in an air conditioned/heated truck. My favorite part is tinkering around in the garage and creating my own rig.

Meh...it's nothing special. I've had it for 25 years; it's a workhorse. The only thing original is the body, neck plate, jack cup and control plate. In fact, I'm waiting on my second replacement neck from Warmoth.

Have you guys have seen the show “Dicing with Death” on Amazon Prime?

Seeing the shit those folks go thru in their LC’s, Prados and Hiluxes make me wonder if a Taco would make in the 3rd world.

My immediate thoughts are “hell no”. God could you imagine some Instalander trying to take his RIG to the market through the jungles of Myanmar with a 2000# load of mint tucked under their RTT? LOL

X2 on affordable guitars that sound great. I have a Jim Root signature tele and its a squier. Man this guitar sounds amazing for what a paid for it. Has 2 humbuckers, not quite a classic tele but I freaking love this thing, I will never sell that baby.

Thats what those in the business call “a clue”.

If you did your own research and came away with the conclusion that the they are all the same, I’d be more worried about my researching capabilities than what truck I ended up with.... :anonymous::bananadead:

I bought mine for the hood scoop and sunroof. The chevy and ford are better all around but boring/ugly inside and out.

Great trucks but I hate the way they look. Front doesn’t match the back, they remind me of a mullet.

Totally right. The Hilux in it's current configuration, totally looks like a mullet. Which fits perfectly down in ozzieland, as mullets are still in style down there.

You guys are out of my league. All we’re rocking here are my kid’s Cordoba halfsie and my Yamaha FX335. We’re mostly playing songs from Frozen 2 and Hamilton. No shredding or electrification or massive barre work — yet.
