TSB-0092-20 is awesome!

I'm about 1/2 way thru my 2nd tank of gas since having this update done 2 weeks ago and I am seeing the dash display AVG MPG has been between 1~2 higher than before. I know its too early to prove any MPG gain but Im sure it didnt go down.

 

If you think this TSB is a game changer OV tune is next level by far.

 

So if we don't have the a OBD Fusion or any other tester is the 407200 the same as the tsb-0092-20. Or is there different versions of the tsb-0092-20. My paperwork from dealership only says the tsb number

 

Just had it done on my 19 long bed with falken at3 10ply 32's. Biggest notice is it actually accelerates from a stop correctly now.

Should have come from the factory this way. I feel bad for all those that dont know, will never get the flash.

 

All one in the same. The 92-20 is the bulletin identification number stating the issue and the fix (flash). Your reference to 407200 is the result of the flash. You're good.

Your question about different versions is valid. There is one bulletin that address both the 19 year make and then the 20 year make.

My 2021 TRD Pro seems to fall under this and gear hunts. How to I see if the vehicle has been updated with this?

 

No 2021 TSBs, yet. The vF Tune is the only solution. Hit up @G8R_Taco, @Stormpeacock, or @ktbell444 .

 

2021 should already have this tune from the factory. If it's not to your liking, there's always the OV tune.

 

Same as 1990561 said. I just traded my 15’ Tundra for a 21’ TRD PRO Off Road AT. This thing shifts like crap. Still on my first tank of gas, so I figured it just needed to “learn”... around town is tolerable, but the highway with the cruise on is nuts. It’s like it has a 4 cyl, and I’m pulling a trailer.
I’m going to see what the dealer says next week. If they’re no help, I was looking at the ShiftSense Pro unit, which seems to be well liked.

 

I would give a little while before you do that. Then if it’s not better go to the dealer and see if the TSB applies to your truck. But I needs to learn how you drive for sure.

 

For the price of the SSP, you could get a vF / OVT flash from a local person.

 

Mine hasn’t gotten any better with time. I’m at 8k now and same as you on the highway it’s all over the place.

 

To be fair, bone-stock trucks drive great with this tune. As soon as you start adding larger tires and a lift as well as any other non-aerodynamic mods, your increasing drag in the truck and it will still feel sluggish with the tune to an extent. At that point, the consensus is to go with the OVTune.

 

I disagree a bit here.

I was stock when the TSBs came out in 2018, got OVT in early 2019. It doubled down on the difference.

When the 2016 / 2017 MT TSB came out similar to TSB-0092-20 last April. It was again a big difference. At that time, my only changed was 265/70R17 ATs and aSl Softopper. Tossing the updated OV Tunes on top was another big difference.

Yes, though. Just the TSB flash can satisfy a lot of folks.

 

True, "drives great" can mean different things to different people. I don't expect it to drive like a car, and it stays in 6th gear on the highway for me. I'm also not cruising above 70-75 mph either since the trucks weren't optimized for it.

 

That sounds like the right perspective for our needs.

 

There is a TSB for all years since 2016. I have a 2016 and have updated the ECU 3 times now. It's best to have a copy of the applicable TSB when visiting the dealer.

To the topic of discussion; granted the TSBs can be outdated and even revised (I have seen a few) but does the .CUW file change/become outdated as well, or does that file remain the same even though the TSB is outdated/revised?

 

The CUWs linked in TSBs don't change. For example, if TSB-0077-16 is applied, folks will only end up with 04B03, which is outdated by the 2018 TSBs.

Although, if the shop does a Health Check, it will automatically apply the latest available.

IMHO, it is best to read up and go in with the most current data in hand. I try to keep the 1st Post of the ECU Update thread updated with the latest info.
