I ordered new 5100’s (warranty claim) and this time around I’m going with ome 884’s with the 1/4” top spacer for drivers side lean. I ordered new top mounts awhile ago (Monroe sale for $11 Canadian) these Monroe mounts do not have the rubber bushing that goes on the underside of the mount. From memory the 5100’s only come with one rubber bushing for above the top hat mount.
Question; can I remove rubber from factory Toyota mount? Or use the top rubber bushing from the current 5100’s on the underside of the new mounts? I just don’t want to get it tore apart and not be able to put it back together because I’m short these bushings

There is no lower bushing. There is rubber molded into the bottom of the top hat that acts as a bushing. Make sure you put a washer on the bottom though.

One more. Also bilstein cheaped out and now does not include rubber bushings/washers for the front 5100’s like they do for the rear 5100’s wtf?

My front 5100s came with the plastic boot, 2 washers, and 1 rubber bushing, and the nylock nut.

so to answer the question, are the top hats suppose to come with a rubber bushing that is 1) either pressed into the underside of the top hat or 2) a rubber bushing I placed under the top hat myself?

My TRW tophats came with the rubber bushing molded into the bottom, just like OEM, and the tophat in that video you posted.

FYI to whoever said I got my $11 worth, they are now within a dollar of the kyb kit (some say kyb makes the oem Toyota ones) so when I bought them on sale how would I know they were shit?
