Does the lever still work? I've been riding with a bent lever since I crashed in November. I just rotated it on the bars so I can get my finger on it.

It seems to work, but ‘feels’ like it’s pointing straight down when on the bike.

Sourcing a replacement lever will be my preference. If I can’t find a compatible lever I’ll see if some rotating of the setup will help before I buy a new lever assembly.

Bike looks sick! I think keeping the silver pike was the way to go!

Crashes suck! That’s quite an interesting bend

I got oval on my Calling after 30+ years of riding nothing but round. Rode it around the driveway and definitely felt the bounce. However, after 5 minutes on the trail, I totally forgot about it and it felt natural. I have since switched all the bike to oval. The bonus power you get when going over technical stuff on the climb is worth it.

Yea, my lever was super backordered which is when I realized I could live with it bent for a while.

I had a bend like that. Put the handle of my floor jack around it and straightened it easy peasy.

The thought of some cheater bar action did cross my mind. Not opposed to it, but a little leery of the extra torque on other parts.

    not enough.

I've had that happen before. I dealt with it for several months before I finally decided to replace the lever. The part costs less than 20 bucks and can easily be done at home. lol. At least, that was the case for my sram code's

This is kinda my logic with most parts that are sub $100 to replace, and fully with sub $50.

I’m not rolling in cash, but saving that kinda money just to run a haggard/jerry rigged part on any bike that’s $3k+ is kinda silly to me.

You need to hop on the "tacomaworld rides" strava club. It where all of us characters in here are.

It was the rattler, gasline, limelight lollipop but of course its now under several inches of cold concrete

My bend started where the lever blade pinches. Ive ridden it several times since then and not a problem. Everyones different risk tolerance though, so your call.

Same spot on mine. I used my man hands and brought it back to an acceptable position. Was in a little too much pain yesterday to think rationally.

I’ll probably still replace it if I can find the part in stock (or a compatible model).

Speaking of which, I need to check in on the members (84 strong). We get some weird people sign up that have nothing to do with our group, many of which "doctor" their rides. I don't get it.

    Wolftooth pack pliers ftw.

Just got a ride in in my oval ring yesterday and if I focused on spinning good circles, I could really feel the oval work through my legs. Def noticeable in some punchy spots where I used to be pretty mashy, but totally get how others dont notice a change, cuz I only remembered halfway through the ride that I had put an oval on cuz my riding buddy asked about it. I really like it though.
