Samesies. Im the kind of party animal that as soon as i cross that thin line from buzzed to drunk I immediately get up and go to bed. I can't even explain that one. Middle age sure is fun.

I am raising my grand daughter so she is mostly around my adult friends & VERY well behaved & respectful but if the party wants to get a little rowdier then I want her to witness I certainly will not be the damper her & I will just do something else. I will be enjoining my adult beverages either way.

No worries and I won’t stop anyone and I haven’t met y’all but from the sounds of it I think it’ll be more an elks lodge night than an Atlantic City night.
grew up in old orchard beach - same rules apply for the sand. Walking around town they’re like 10% more active about it. Don’t be stupid and it’ll all be fine. We had two bachelor parties there with no issues.

Today's camper shakedown was a success. New solar panels could almost drive the radio on a heavily overcast morning. Check. New battery monitor looks nice and sexy. Check. Silverware and dishes all got a proper sanitizing in a real dishwasher. Check.

Now that I'm writing this I realize I completely forgot to check the cleanliness of the bedsheets and towels. Eh, screw it. I'm sure it'll be fine. :bananadead:

    We are ready to roll.

Good thing the plan is not to come to Amarillo this weekend. Severe weather all afternoon. A tornado went basically over the entrance to Palo Duro Canyon.

Several RVs destroyed that was camping up top by the zip line area. Pics on FB. I don’t do FB but my wife does, I barely do TW, but I love reading here!!

If ya'll camp at McBride the best campsites are back in the Mullinaw area. I won't be able to make it, but maybe able to swing by ya'lls camp for a bit friday afternoon.

Thanks for the tip. Do you know that lake well? Is there a better spot for an uncrowded camp site?

Yes, we camp at that lake a lot since its close and free. Mullinaw/McBride will probably be empty or have few campers since hunting season is mostly over. We camp mostly on the north side of the lake at Plum Creek. Other good sites are Fritch Fortress, Bugbee, and Plum Creek. Blue Creek is good but it will be busy with offroaders and you have to have the state ohv sticker and the NPS ohv sticker, and they are strict about the ohv sticker. You can get the NPS sticker at their office in Fritch its free.

@GarlicFarts @Drainbung , maybe @Biscuits ? Seems like we are going to be the degenerate campers of the group. Final vote in for a plan of action! I'll add the satellite view and distance to BT, so this one is pic heavy. First and second choices: I'm personally still at McBride/Mullinaw 1st, but Bugbee looks good as my second.

For me, I like having some natural cover that keeps my little camper tucked out of the wind. In that part of the state, when the wind decides it wants to blow, it blows.

    Plum Creek:

And Fritch Fortress, likely to be the most crowded:

I'm up for just about anything. I did look at the weather and did see "wind", it's 'new' to me a bit, I've always lived pretty close to the water, enough that the weather is stabilized by the ocean, so y'all out there get some wild temperature swings and wind gusts going. I think I saw a cold front rolled into Austin and it went from sunny 85 to overcast and 55 in the course of 10 minutes.

ANYWAY on to the important question - I'm flexible. My preference is a decent enough view to wake up to, I like to be on the water. The rest of my trip will probably involve a lot of rest stops so, even being off the highway is a benefit. I'll defer to whoever knows the area better.

Right now my plan is to roll in Saturday morning but I will shoot to try to get there Friday afternoon/night instead. I'll know better Friday AM and will pop on to message peeps on here.
