absolutely nothing below MSRP at the 3 local dealers I went to. It seems as soon as these trucks hit the lot (lower trims) they sell. I attempted to get the same dealer discount of $1600 as in AZ and all 3 sales managers shook my hand and showed me the door or the road to AZ.

    MSRP 32,650 + $1000 dest fee = 33,650 on the sticker.

-$1000 tacoma march promo put me at
    $32,650

I was going to grab the same exact truck a few days before locally, it sold as soon as I got there.

We use the price before all taxes and fees for comparison.
    6% off =average good deal
    8%=good
    10%=very good
    12%=excellent
    * Just off the eyeball test of following this thread, these percentages seem like they may have come down a little within the past month or so. Although there has been a lot of California pricing talk which will skew things a little.
Accurate Gauge of Tacoma Price Info:
    1. Year, trim, color, transmission, bed
    2. MSRP(before dealer add ons)

    5. Price before Tax Title License (TTL) including incentive/rebate

    7. Incentive (rebate/customer cash)
    8. Price Out The Door (OTD)
    9. Trade in vehicle(year, make, model, trim)

Good breakdown, but this applies to all Tacoma models except the Pro.

Definitely. Low supply Covid times. Non-Covid times. Pros go for around MSRP because even in regular times the supply of pros is low.

Hayward AutoNation provided me the best deal anywhere in the Bay Area via the Costco program. If you catch the truck before they put on that "Paint Protection" mark-up, they won't force you to have it. But it does look like they make adjustments and the overall savings will in the same ballpark. I was offered a Costco discount of $957 under MSRP on a TRD OR that had just arrived. Combined with the local Toyota incentive, I was going to pay $1,457 under MSRP. No other dealer would come close. Fremont Toyota has a markup of $5000 the SR models and a $20,000 on the Pro model.

Tempe AZ Autonation wanted to sell me a Tacoma Pro Magnetic Gray for MSRP at $48.6k

Phoenix AZ Camelback Toyota wanted to sell me a Tacoma Pro Midnight Black for MSRP +$2400. Would not budge. Told me to buy the one from Autonation.

I ended up getting the black one and paid the $2400 up charge.

The black looked that much better in my opinion. The paint and trim blend together and the red coil over and red rear shocks simply pop.

My practical brain said buy the cheaper Magnetic Gray. My wife said to spend the money on the black one. It looked way better to her. I listened to her.

It was the only new truck in the whole state matching the specs we wanted. We figured we’d have to pay close to MSRP and I think we did OK. It wasn’t a great deal but I don’t think we overpaid. First post here, first time I’ve bought a truck, first time I’ve bought a vehicle with only 10 miles on it.

I’m a short gal so my feet didn’t really touch the floor in a Dodge Ram. After that amusing discovery, we didn’t even bother testing anything other then the Tacoma.

Which dealer is this? Did they also give you a 2-3 month timeline?

Carlson Toyota, Costco auto directed me to them when I put in a zip code by the twin cities.
They thought anything from 2 to 5 months. The manual transmission is the wild card here. I thought I read they only build manuals every 3 months or so? It's been about a month now and I was going to follow up with them. They said they put in their "order" towards the end of the month and then find out if it's been filled out not.

If it’s not on allocation to the dealer, they may never get it. If it is, you should be able to get a build date first and later on, the VIN.

Yeah, some risk I'm taking for sure.
They are a volume dealer and claim they just had a MT Tacoma they sold recently. So hoping they are allowed some on allocation if they are able to sell them.

They should be able to tell you right now if it is on allocation. If they are only HOPING to have one allocated you may never see one. Waiting is not so bad if you know for certain it’s coming. Perhaps contacting other dealerships as far as you are willing to drive will increase your chances. All dealer allocations are different and you may get lucky.

2021 SR5 access cab, V6, 4WD, silver, automatic transmission. MSRP was $36,077. Options were floor mats/mudguards, plus the "Adventure Package" this dealer puts on all vehicles which includes scratch protection, free dent fixes, and some other stuff I didn't care for (but their price was still better than dealers that did not include this package).

Price with options but before title/license was $34,333. Out the door price with everything was $35K flat. Purchased 03/15/21 in Oregon.

I checked every dealer within 100 miles (I live in an urban area so that was 9-10 dealers). None were willing to deal much, if at all -- low supply and high demand they said. I had a dealer refuse to knock even $200 off their original asking price in order to make the sale.

Hey Symbol, did they give you a good trade-in on your suv? That's what really matters. The supply in Oklahoma is tight also, bought mine in January of this year. They had one TRD off road on the lot.

I didn't think I did that great when I got $2600 off my SR5. My dealership acted like I was asking for too much off. I guess I did okay after all, my dealer normally has 20-30 new Tacoma's on the lot. The day I got mine there was only 4 including mine.

    2021 cement Tacoma off road
    Here's my story:

Logged into Costco auto program early February to start looking for a Tacoma. I live in Washington and they put you in contact with the nearest Costco affiliated dealer, mine was in the north Seattle area. Drove a TRD sport with premium package, scoop, step, and a few other options. MSRP was around 44.8K and with Costco discount it was about 43.5K. A little high for me and it was the first one I looked at. Checked a few other local dealers and a couple that I were interested in were already sold. Our son bought a corolla in November about an hour and 15 minutes up north and suggested that dealership. Tax rate up north is lower as well, 8.7% compared to 10.1% in greater Seattle area. Anyway I found a 2021 TRD OR DCSB in cement with premium off road package, technology package, all weather floor liners, door sill protectors, black out package, bed light kit, mudguards: Vehicle base model 37,280, Optional equipment 5,556, delivery process and handling: 1,175 for total MSRP of 44,011. They had to check if TRD OR was eligible for Costco and it was: 40,897. I pulled the trigger and bought it on Feb 20 by putting $ down but it was not in yet. He said 1-2 weeks. The next day I looked at their inventory online but my truck was now for an MSRP of 46,511. I wasn't sure why it had went up or if they did that when they sell a vehicle that didn't come in yet? Checked to see if my truck was in after a week, not yet, next week the Tacoma was being held up in Oregon at the processing center. Scheduled delivery date was now Mar 8-15. Finally on the 15th I get an email that my Tacoma is in! We drove up the next day to pick it up and finished the financing. I asked about the new MSRP and he mentioned that their Off Roads were selling so well they bumped them all up 2500. He also mentioned that they stopped including the Off roads in their Costco auto program. I feel like I got an even better deal after hearing all of this. My wife joked that it was because of me they did those two things, but in reality its true. They knew they could make more on their Tacomas and didn't need to include the OR in their Costco program because people will pay the extra amount. I feel so fortunate to find my perfect truck at the price I did and am loving it!
