Chrome Lovers Unite

Like the chrome look for the grill, bumpers, and wheels....that is real chrome. I wonder how this bumper fake chrome will hold up opposed the real chrome plated metal ones. I've had painted bumpers in the past, and all look like crap in several years. My tundra had real chrome bumpers, and they still looked perfect after 19 years.

 

To chrome or not to chrome? That is the question.

It really depends. I like chrome on some vehicles, black ones for example. Bold and dark colors in general. But for my quicksand... black is the perfect accent color.

 

Since everyone is now coming out...



What is next?
Gold???

- why is it that it is consistently the lowest quality, most trashed, rubbish vehicles that are all decked out with gold plated (looking) badges and accessories?


Chrome is not my preference in MY taco... I do not mind chrome in the tacos. I think the factory does a decent jod of keeping it reasonable. (I do find the rear bumper a bit odd).
I’ve not been bothered by the small bits of interior chrome...

On the trail with my bone stock Limited with all the chrome!

 

The only chrome I got rid of was the interior door handles and the badge on the center of the steering wheel, hated the finger prints on the handles and the reflection into my eyes off steering wheel badge. The rest is just right in my opinion.

The Chrome looks great, it’s just a different perspective that’s all. I really like my cheese grater too, it’s unique and love it or hate stands on its own.

 

chrome knows how to get dirty and then looks incredible cleaned up.

I love my chrome bumper ends! Just like my first car/truck, '87 toyota sr5 with chrome bumpers!
And now I have them on my '17 Trd off road!

Nope. All stock from factory. The only thing I have done to the truck is maintenance/tires and I added the runners. I’m getting ready to start a build so changes are coming!

Honestly I was considering blacking out everything but this thread has me thinking twice about that!

 

There is nothing like chrome against black in tasteful amounts such as you have. I would certainly keep it.

Chrome was king in the 1950's thru early 70's and by the mid 80's was nearly all replaced by plastic.
