I work as a repair technician. I find no chance of a robot taking my job for the foreseeable future.

I would be afraid of Robots taking over
a Robot manufacturing facility after perfecting artificial intelligence.

I actually wrote a midterm about industrial automation, and how automation is taking over manufacturing.

I’m not really afraid of it per say, it’s really just taking low level manufacturing jobs that are better done with robots. Even Amazon has robots running their line and they still need workers to pack boxes.

I don't think robots can yet determine what to do if something goes wrong. They're perfectly fine for set conditions but lack a certain level of improvisation most jobs require. I feel that the majority of jobs where robots can be implemented have already been fleshed out.

There will always be a certain level of human involvement. How much involvement will go down with time though. Training one person to watch over two machines that detect 80% of their own errors is better than training two people to watch over one machine that only detects 25% of errors.

A good point. And where there are machines, there will be people to fix the machines, regardless of what the machines are doing.

One thing Im working on implementing in my plant is more touch screen control where we can keep certain settings accessible by password only. Prevents a lot of down time from operators who think they can adjust their machines but just end up screwing it up.

Yep. I think I ordered one with the 5VR. I think they both use the same batteries.

Have you ever used CHIRP software to program?
