I thought about it reeeaaallyyy hard. had one in my cart. M-13 is a good builder, and all those custom parts, you could flip it for another grand on gunjoker. but I'm saving for thermal.

Thermals is a way better option. I'd rather invest that money and use the profits to buy thermals.

Before insanity took over and ammo prices went through the roof. I purchased 2k rounds of 5.56 ammo, labels American Eagle XM193 AF90. I had purchased a single black box of this ammo loaded on stripper clips to try out. I shot this ammo, wolf gold, wolf steel, Independence brand, bear, and cheap Colt all in 55 gr. I was just shooting to see what ammo was the most accurate from my Windham SRC rifle.
The worst shooting was the Independence brand, wolf gold and wolf steel did okay, but by far the best shooting was the American Eagle XM193 AF90. Man I wish that I'd bought 5-6 K rounds before these shit stupid ammo prices hit the market. Here's a pic of my last outing at the range. The only holes that are counted in this pattern are the one in the orange diamond, and the bottom holes just under the diamond, I repair my targets many times, so ignore the holes to the left were sighting in the scope. Trying to shoot a red dot, or a scoped rifle these days with Bifocals really sucks. The top pic is 100 yards with a 5.56 specific scope. The bottom pic is my other windham with a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot. Try to focus your eyes on one of these with bifocals. Just wanted to see if anyone else has tried this XM193 AF90 ammo, I've been impressed with it.GEDC0406.jpgthis is the 25 yard red dot target

Under normal circumstances Federal/American Eagle is all I'll shoot for 9mm, 5.56, and 7.62 NATO. Having to be a little less picky right now. :(

Just found a Dan Wesson Vigil 9mm pistol, brand new in the box for $970.00.
So tempted to pull the trigger on this one.

They’re so similar and yet so different.
Even though I have very few rounds through the 5” with the dot I prefer it over the 4.25” with the dot.

I don't see too much of that around me but I haven't heard any complaints about it. I've been shooting Blazer and S&B lately.

Yeah I really like DW pistols. My first revolver was a 15-2V which I still have. I sold a DW guardian .45 back in 2019 because of back surgery I had. I couldn't stand still very well and thought it deserved a better home. Had my 4th fusion surgery done in 2020, and regretted selling the guardian. I have 3 9mm right now, but the DW would be a great addition.

Hello, question for my fellow TW members. My brother purchased me a Remington 870 12guage shotgun as my wedding present a couple years ago. It's registered under his name but I have it in my possession. We don't live near each other (NorCal vs SoCal) so it's not a super easy thing to just meet up. I want to register the gun in my name for legal reasons and I also read I can't buy ammo unless I have it registered to me. So what's the best way to go about this? I was thinking:

    - Next time I drive up to see his family bring the shotgun with me and we both go to a gun store and do the transfer?
    - I ship it to him, he brings it to a gun dealer who ships it to a gun dealer near me and i pick it up? (although i have no clue about shipping a firearm - maybe i have to ship it to him through a dealer as well)

I also haven't taken my gun safety course yet so i'm studying for that and want to take care of it as soon as possible. I am obviously in California and I believe you have to have taken that course prior to owning any firearms.

Very cali specific .. most of us are in free states. Well, for now. Might want to consult folks in the socal section if y'all have a gun thread, or maybe something like CalGuns for this kinda thing.
