Takes longer to find a good answer on Chegg than it does to learn how to solve the question :luvya:

Do your tests get timed? I took one practice quiz going that route and was finished so damn fast I was worried the teacher would pay attention to me only taking 40 seconds per question and call me out

Eh, it prepares you for the highly bureaucratized business world to do it that way.

    Too damn true:pout:

In business they only care that your final result is correct. They don't give a shit HOW you actually get there

I have quizzes like that, I usually just leave my computer and let the time climb for a while

Interesting.. mine times each individual question, not just the whole quiz so I would have to wait on each separate one to make it plausible

Which is the total opposite of every school ideology ever.

Showing your work is a huge load of BS and is responsible for consuming many hours of my childhood spent doing homework. If you can get the right answer on test day (online or in person), who cares how you got it.

Depends on the job. I have to describe why I did something the way I did pretty regularly. Being able to walk someone through my notes (or taking notes in the first place...) helps.

I mean, yes showing your work is useless for something that's already been established. But any theoretical theory or job would HAVE to have work shown, or else there's no basis in the conclusion being actually correct. And we have to teach everyone how to show their work in order to make sure people can follow the thought process and question each step on its validity

I should have been more clear. Mainly what Im refering to is showing work on 25 of the same calc problems just with different variables. Do it once to prove you understand the process, but writing it out 24 other times is just stupid if you know what your doing imo.

Yeah i could go either way. The repetition helps the process stick though.

I had a prof once who would take away a couple of points for every single typo. Somehow I got a negative score that way once...

So basically the human version of the MyMathLab homework website, where algebraic variables are case sensitive for whatever reason.

@JKO1998 and @BartMaster1234 probably have endured the torture from that site too.

Its funny, all my trade related classes used paper homework assignments and those guys classes were way more fun to be in.

I ahve no idea how it actually ended up in the computer. He might have just been fucking with our heads.

One time in another class we _all_ did shit on this one test. Prof made us study a lot more, we all bucked up, studied our asses off for hte next test. Next day prof storms in, slams the tests down on the table, gives us this long tirade about how he thought we were going to study more and why didn't we try. Then just casually ends it with 'actually yall did fine, here's your tests back."

    Jerk.
