The problem isn’t the container, it’s the savages who can’t clean up after themselves. Just saw it in Arches where a family was having their fast food lunch then got up and walked off leaving the shit everywhere.
    People are just friggin assholes...

Thanks for the tips, Fireman! Since it's my first time there and pretty new with the truck, I'm planning to do mostly green trails anyway. Another nube friend of mine will also be going, so makes sense. May also play with 4Lo + on a few obstacles. Looking forward to it!

Camped in the desert a few days then needed a shower and found a state park. Drove north and did some skate skiing. I've found that a down bag stuffed inside a thick, cheap Coleman bag works for me to about the high teens.

Is that a wood stove inside the alu-cab? I'd love more info on this!

Damn.. Are those trees actually that large in diameter, or is that an artifact of the image? If so.. those are friggin huge for cedar trees!

    Love the heater setup!

Well, I got the itch and went out for a weekend of solo camping in the Manistee National Forest. The first night got a little chillier than I anticipated (17*), but it turned out to be a pretty nice weekend. I even got to finish it with my post-pack-up cigar and beer, jut taking it all in before I hit the road tradition. :)

What part of Manistee National Forest? I camp up there all the time. Curious what the trails are like right now.

You know, that's the crappy tarp set-up. :) I grabbed the wrong one. That one is a little too wide, as you can tell from the sag back by my rack. I have another that is the same length as my Yakima cross bars. I simply attach it to the crossbar ends with D-links and then I have 2 cheap telescopic poles that have pointed ends with caps (that secure the ends of the tarp nicely).

I was west of S Walhalla Rd and Kinney Rd... this is about 5 miles south of 10 @ Walhalla.

The trails are pretty choppy. There are a lot more (ice/water filled) holes than I remember seeing even in was last there in November. Some of my friends in cars and crossovers might have a harder time getting to the site.
