Looking at the specs, I apparently have 0.9" more rear legroom than a double cab Tacoma. Thinking back to my Tacoma, I think overall it's pretty similar. This is with the driver's seat in my normal position - I'm about 5'9".

I love that place. Their blueberry beer is my go-to!
    The 53 blocks are sketchyyyy!

I like the 12/24 hybrid builds. Take a 12v bottom end, toss a 24v head on it, crank up the fuel and boost, and go to town! Deboss garage just did one of those builds and explained the benefits.

It's kinda like the 7.3 Powerstroke engines. The 99-01 were made with forged rods, the late 01-03's were made with powdered metal rods that are prone to failure. Why they'd make it weaker is beyond me!

I'd believe it, but at the same time - I also took out the rear seat and used that area too. But yeah I think they'd be pretty close in size. And with the fact that you have the flat floor (flatter than mine...) back under the rear seats, might get more room down below the glove box to play with than I got. That's a long term thought way out. Good to see though.

BUT The new F150s have them fold flat seats so that might be a game changer too. If those work out then I wouldn't need to do jack shit for a camping/sleeping setup. But I think at least right now those are top trim $$$$$$ might be able to bolt them into a lower trim though.

Pretty sure Cummins stuck with forged rods for the entire 5.9 production run, at least.
Because it's cheaper, and when it's done correctly it's just as strong. The problem is that it can be done incorrectly in more ways.

I'd be looking to leave mine pretty much stock anyway. That's part of the problem I'm running into; most of the older diesels have been 'tinkered' with at this point.

Before kids, I'd be fine with an extended cab. Hell, even with the kids I'm fine with one for most of the time, until we go camping. Bags in the cabin with the 2 kids and the dog, extended cab would be a little too tight. I love the space of the crew cab!

Same. The only one who rides in back is the dog; other than that it's just groceries or gear. I can't even remember the last time I had passengers in the back of my truck. I think it was with the F150, right after I bought it in 2016, because the GF's parents wanted a ride.

I don't see the problem with a 2nd gen Cummins with 24x14 wheels, an imaginary trailer in tow, a galvanized trash can as an exhaust tip, and a 2'x2' Cummins sticker on the back window...

Before kids, but with two 4 legged children, an extended cab is tight. You need all the room for toys, leashes, food and water bowls... They don't travel light!

Well, it certainly looks clean. I much prefer 16" wheels & 35's, though.

That picture is a little deceptive--it's right after I put the Husky liners in so there was a ripple from shipping that makes it look like there's a small hump. The floor is completely flat. I think that's one of the best things about these trucks.

I am pretty sure the flat seats are only on the crew cabs, though. There wouldn't be room in the SuperCab without putting the seat way up.

Fair enough - usually under the passenger seat there's a rail or something that the seats bolt onto as well. And toward the back of the cab against the back wall, that is usually a frame of some sort for the seat.

I'm just thinking in terms of repeating the Tacoma build - taking out my seats and making a sleeping platform in there, but that's years away. I'm only at (after this trip) 30k on a 2020, so the truck is still pretty new. I'm waiting until it gets totaled or 300k  at this rate that might just happen, now that I have MTB trip plans this year....

But without those 24x14's how else will people know that your daddy thinks you've got the biggest willy at the family reunion orgy?
I was trying to find a trashy poor example

Worth it, makes me feel better knowing they got some legs under them and will reach deeper quicker.

Limited season too, especially the more northern ones(you). I have some that finish quickly I’m hoping can avoid mold and finish before it gets too cold. Testing them now inside and very happy so far.

Anyone ever notice how NY license plates are always peeling? The quality control is unacceptable. I’m sure under careful watch, Cuomo will do a much better job
