I went full Marine Corps derp. Didn't want to be "that guy" but fell in love with this grille. I'm liking it so far.

Maybe I'm just blind but did you do the whole grill or just the surround? I'm thinking I'm going to do my whole grill (minus the emblem of course) simply because my grill section is chipped to shit as it is.

That "Bumper" is itself just a plastic cover. The real bumper sits like a half foot behind the whole front end.

You're not wrong. The whole front end is plastic, might as well make it look good before it gets smashed. The 1" of difference between grilles makes a world of difference aesthetically, but not in anyway for safety or crash worthiness.

Most have claimed the newer 2020 sr5 grills were a big improvement over previous years. Tell the truth i'm not real fond of my grill. It needs more of the look of a 2020 limited grill.

:rofl:I like the thought. Actually I didn't care for the stock grille at all so I put the Pro grille on, funny thing is though by the time the grille got here, I was getting used to the dark chrome. Those painted black cheese graters look great.

Thanks. And thanks to your dad for his service. I may change it out at some point. That's the great thing about the grille, it's such an easy mod.

It's from a company called 300 Industries. They have all different designs and I believe you can actually design your own, and they will fabricate it. It was packed incredible, and the instructions couldnt be easier. Note, if you shop around, there are other companies that sell their grilles cheaper than 300's website.

There are a few things Toyota hasn't nailed perfectly on any 3rd gen model, grille is probably one of them.

Hi I just switched out the chrome surround for the SR version which is matte black. My truck still has the original grille which is a gloss/chrome black in color.

It's a side view but this was before the surround swap and other updates.

There's a reason the heritage grill is so popular, it's the best looking one by a mile in my opinion

You gotta pic with the black surround but stock grille? This idea has been going through my mind as I think the stock grille color matches well with our SSM trucks. Just that chrome ring though...

Mods? We don't need no stinking mods.
I like the '20/'21 TRD grill the best as far as the OEM stuff is concerned. It's aggressive and has lots of depth without being over-the-top. And I like the fact that it's black rather than chrome.

I know the "heritage" grill has its fans, but I think it has been very overdone.

I’ve been doing back and forth about grille options. I wanted something clean and classy. I like a little bit of contrast so getting something solid black, wasn’t really on my radar. I took some plasti dip to mine and I’m very pleased with how it turned out. It completely toned down the chrome cheese grater look, yet still looks like it came this way from the factory. Kinda. Guess that’s the look I was going for. I feel like there’s some grille options that are just overdone. I also feel like something just SOLID black would grow old to me quick.
