Lurked on this thread for like 6 months. Just went from Amazon Auxbeam H11 in my low beam and OEM halogen fogs to Hella 2.0 H9 in the low beam and Hella Yellow H11 in the fogs. The difference is incredible, Highly recommended for anyone looking for an inexpensive and quality setup, altogether was $50 flat on amazon.

If you build a set of the same quality as that stereo harness you sent me, you'd sell all you could build. I know the H9 mod is popular in the WRX world as well. I don't think I have enough room in my wife's Grand Cherokee headlight bucket for one, or I'd be on the list to order one from you. Her lamps are impossible to get to, I actually dropped an H9 inside the assembly and wasn't about to pull the bumper in the middle of winter to get it out. One of these days I'll go back in there (grumbles)

I got some female H9’s yesterday and got all excited. Got the male side done. Went to do the females and realized neither of the sockets I have fit that one. Hah! Cruel irony.

I’m still waiting on the OEM looking ones to show up from Hong Kong / mainland China. And still hunting for terminals for the Delphi ones.

Love it. You have a good side gig right there. If I didn't have the LED lamps, I'd be be sending you cash ASAP. I may still after I take a gander at the Jeep again.

These don’t look half bad. They also don’t look at all OEM.

Says "made in china" on the label. I can't read the Hanzi stuff. Got 'em on fleabay but I saw similar on aliexpress, just took the easy way out purchase-wise as no ali account (yet).

Going to whip up a test harness, anyone got a preference on length? I was thinking short and sweet myself...

Ok, so, I don’t think this is it either.

Pro: female fits H9 snug as a bug. No wiggle, no play, strong and solid connection.

Con: weatherproof rubber seal is not very tight tolerance. Loose and looks like it easily bunches up. Also the female terminals it came with were unsealed with seals placed on top. Overall, not superb.

    The search continues.

Used a small knife and whittled the internal plastic tab off. Takes only a minute. Wear gloves to handle the bulb or wipe it down with isopropyl alcohol afterwards to clean it from skin oils.

3rd Gen has two headlight bulbs, low beam and high beam.

So can fit the h9 bulb to fit the h11 harness the bulb and not modify the h11 harness? The h9 bulb won't fry the harness or get too hot?

And if you trim one of the H9 tabs, then it fits in the H11. Even though H11 has a longer slot in the female, the shorter tab from the H9 poses no problem.

Power-wise it’s 10/55 so < 20% difference. Though there are reports of cheap female H9 extension harnesses melting. It’s assumed that OEM connectors are high quality. A ceramic female might be ideal insurance but I have yet to find one I truly love.

TLDR, you will be fine. Many of us run this setup with zero trouble.
