New Taco and am looking to start outfitting it. What are some good hard cover bed covers? I am looking for something that will offer protection, but also does not take up to much bed space when I need to load it up. Thanks!

Congrats on the new truck, I just picked up a new one as well. Just ordered an MX4 from Amazon. Pricey, but seems to have some good reviews...

I just bought a Bakflip MX4 from the Bakflip website for about $50 less than Amazon. If you chat or call they set you up with a cheaper cost, and they have a $100 mail in rebate too.

I installed the MX4 a few weeks ago and am pretty happy with it. Really versatile and can be removed easily if needed. The whole thing is pretty light weight. The only con for me is that it leaks a bit more than I like. I removed the side rails and put a bead of RTV under the rubber edges, seems to still be leaking. Not terrible, but I don't think I would want to leave some expensive tools in there. I'll fool with it more when it warms up.

I have an Extang Encore. It was on the truck when I bought it.

I really like it but it doesn't keep as much water out as I had hoped.

Check out truxedo tonneau covers also. They have hard tonneaus that can be rolled up for easy truck bed access.

I got bakflip mx4 on my truck as well. Love the thing a fold it up enough to get the motorcycle in with no issues. I would also look into getting some weather tech floor mats. They are a god dam life saver for me.

Hey all. Thanks for the input. Went with the Bakflip mx4. Install was a breeze but seeing some leakage with a good rain we had come through. Any fixes for this ?

Maybe there was moisture in the bed before you fully closed it all up. Cause I know on mine if I leave any water in there without the holes open it stays in there. Speaking of the holes did you drill the holes in the bed?

Anyone use the weathertech roll up cover? Don’t think I need anything heavy duty so this looks like a solid option.

While WeatherTech makes some great products, I have their floor liners in both of my vehicles, their roll up cover is a private labeled Access Lorado. While there isn't a huge price discrepancy between the two, The Lorado is a little cheaper for the same top. Access makes six different roll up covers, so if you're curious the difference between their models, their comparison chart is awesome. https://www.accesscover.com/comparison/

Another vote for Peragon. Mine was stiff when new. Just like they said it would be. One year in and it’s slick as snot.

As to water, the only leakage as at the tailgate and very minor. After I installed the supplied rubber seal it has remained dry.

Mind you this is SoCal where rain has been scarce this past year.
