COFFEE!!! Decaf coffee... but still COFFEE!

Hoping for a day in the sixties here so I can paint my wheels before the new tires go on. I never did find a used tire that matched the three BFGs so I just pulled the trigger on a new set of Geolandars. We'll see if the tires show up today after being missing-in-action on Friday. Should be a beautiful day.
If any of you guys living in the wake of the storm could direct it back here to dump some snow, we need it bad. Nice days are great, but we could sure use the moisture.

And sometimes they do it amazingly well... and sometimes they are padding their wallets.

A little something every chance we get.
    Good Moring Porch! :pccoffee:

Think I finally shook the worst of that hospital cold. Damp, with not a lot of rain all weekend pretty much said stay inside on the recliner, but it's a sunshine morning, I slept in happily, the wife has the dog out for a walk, and I feel normal enough to do my front yard clean up today.

Thanks for the rock compliment Tom, I was awake a few days ago when I saw it! I had bigger plans, but the wife didn't want that much, so.... I have to do inside the "courtyard" yet, and I'll be rearranging the black rocks there - with maybe some new ones!

    Have a great week all!

Good morning everyone. Need to call my bone doc about getting lubrication shots for my knees. Arthritis is taking a toll, but my best medicine it to keep moving. Lots more hiking and bike rides yet to be done.

I've gotten my morning infusion of pitch-black expresso. Not adjusted to the time change yet, but up and moving. Hips are sore, too much time on the garage floor with yesterday's tailgate wiring and lawn mower deck repair. Same riding mower for 20 years, just maintenance but rocks take out blades and spindle bearings every four years.

A handy site to look at: Most docs will have companies bring lunch in for the office (common) but I had one who recommended some really expensive stuff. Whoa, but doc said it worked great. Sigh, $50,000 vacations paid to the doc. Not cool.

Other times you will see payments for education, normally reasonable as they are being comped to present at a seminar. My Neurologist (Movement Disorder Specialist) is an advocate for exercise as the first medicine. Sweat is good! Cardio. Keep Moving!

    Same here.
Was a Cabelas customer for years. There is a Bass Pro not far from me that I rarely go to. Their quality sucks, esp the cheesy Red Head clothes. Inferior products,IMO.
I'm glad I have enough hunting clothes to last me till I'm too old to go.

Bought some extra Cabelas Logger heavy flannel shirts before the takeover.
These are my favorites and I had a gut feeling that these would disappear as well. Have enough for a while.

The thing that bothers me is that they no longer sell rifles with iron sights. Pennies in the manufacturing process, and the rifle is useless if your glass gets damaged. And some of us like using iron sights.

    True.
Most of my rifles/slug guns have irons or low power glass.

I too is/was a Cabelas customer. Being an avid Hunter/fisherman/outdoorsman I’ve purchased tens of thousands of dollars from them. All has been quality stuff. I’ve shopped BassPro but not much. I have a closet stuffed with camo hunting clothing, all is Cabelas with the exception of 3 items of Redhead gear. I’ve always found BP Redhead clothing a little inferior to cabelas. I often drive 125 miles to go to the Reno Cabelas as opposed to 25 miles to the BP store.I noticed when they combined stores a number my favorite Cabelas things have disappeared.
As far as fixed iron sights I grew up using nothing but iron sights. I was a darn good shot. But about 40 years ago I started using scopes. Never went back to iron sights other than one old 22 rifle I shoot for fun occasionally. With these old eyes and not quite as steady as I use to be I’d have problems hitting the 10 ring without a scope.

Hanging ribs and a chicken in the WSM today. Ribs are off and wrapped in a 225 Degree oven to bring up to 200 degrees. Sorry no pics yet. Chicken is still in the WSM.

AH HA, thank you Sprig for giving me an excuse for missing that doe with the FL, heck I can't even hit a whole deer let alone the 10 ring!
    Maybe next year! :fingerscrossed:

Just to reassure all of you who are getting 1st or 2nd shots , studies show that older people (us) mostly have mild to no reactions from the shots. Not so for the younger people. A much higher percentage of younger have somewhat significant symptoms like fever, general malaise, aches, flu like symptoms. I’ve talked to a lot of 60+ individuals and all but one had no symptoms or at most a sore arm and maybe a little fatigue. One had mild flu like symptoms the next day and that was it. I was talking to a 30 year old this morning who drew my blood for my annual checkup and he told me the second shot knocked him on his butt. He was out of work 2 days and barely functional on the third. My wife and I had mild fatigue the second day and that was all. Us old farts are tough.

I have a whole list of excuses for when I miss. A few include the wind velocity, the alignment of the sun, moon and stars, tectonic plate activity, gravity variations and on and on. Hitting the 10 ring is just a memory for me.

No excuse here..just a bad, bad tree.
I found the tree that i killed in 2019 this past season.
    50 feet away at first light, I had a doe's shoulder lined up...or I thought I did.

This 870 had the shorty smoothbore with irons until I rebarreled it last year with a rifled barrel and a Nikon 2-7.
After the initial WTF, I had to laugh about it.

Well, got shot at 9AM. Now 6 hrs later I'm feeling side effects. Not terrible yet, mainly achy joints, but I can see where this is headed.

    :yay: I mean :annoyed:
