    2010 Tacoma Sport , 4x4 with the 4 liter engine .
Like the thread title says , I recently had the factory leaf springs replaced along with 5100,shocks on all 4 corners .
Thats the 4 leaf pack TSB springs ...aka Canadian tsb leaf springs . Not sure if there is a difference between the states and Canada

    I have a leer 100 series topper .
If I hit a good size bump , the rear leaf springs sag enough allowing the rear axle to come in contact with the bump stops .
What are you guys using to avoid this ? a progressive overload ?
I dont want stiffer suspension . I just want to avoid hitting the bump stops .
    Any assistance is appreciated .

Add air bags or sumo springs ! Note: I just replaced a set of recalled springs that were replaced 2016 ish which were broken AGAIN. Truck does have 405k on it though... just check and make sure nothing is broken.

Most folks in here will recommend a total leaf pack swap... but $$$. Doesn’t seem like there is a best compromise out there that maintains factory ride, reduces sag, and doesn’t offer any lift other than a totally new leaf pack. Superbumps/timbrens or progressive AAL is probably the second most recommended option

The stock bumpstops are pretty harsh. Just upgrade the bumpstops: https://archivegarage.com/explore-archive/ols/products/stealth-toyota-u-bolt-flip (select option 3 or 4)

changing bump stops isn't going to fix your sad leaf spring issue. Although timbrens will make it more enjoyable to bottom out lol

I had Timbrens with the All-Pro U-bolt flip kit in my previous truck. Timbrens are almost as bad as stock bumpstops when they hit. They act like a stiff spring (i.e. no shock absorption)

Results of my "scientific testing" with empty bed and just a 50 lb tonneau:
    • It doesn't make sense to go with stiffer leaf packs/overload/AAL just to avoid hitting the bumpstops. The bumpstops will hit anyway if you go fast enough / road is rough enough. I'm running Icon RXT leaf packs (4" lift) and 2.5" RR shocks and I can still hit the bumpstops.
    • Having tried stock, Timbrens, and Wheelers Superbumps, the Timbrens behave similarly to stock while the Wheelers Superbumps are cushy.
This stretch of road is close to me, so it's easy to put in repeated runs over multiple months to test out different configurations. The "click" when going over the second speed bump is the seat belt retractor locking from g-forces:

Yep, that and the Speedway leaf liners which add about 0.4" in height by their thickness. Once my Mobtown HC bumper goes on, the height will be reduced some.
Stock 3.5L with Volant intake (as slow as stock but sounds better from the resonator delete  )
