A sign of a good tire when they outperform the stock subie stuff.

Best I can figure, it's meant to prevent parking lot donuts. It seems to do a pretty good job at that

Yep, same here in the alleys and side streets that people were stuck in.

It has saved many people with less than stellar driving skills from accidents. As more of the population treats driving as a utility and not a skill/pleasure, these electronic systems that continue to improve will reduce accidents and deaths.

Well then, sounds like the tow strap goes around a CV axle... :bananadead:

Yup. The last vehicle I helped out was the Suburban that was in 4WD... but had some nice and shiny 22" rims with rubber band summer tires.

For sale soon as a group buy when I read the wiring diagrams: 2nd gen, plug and play "OFF ROAD" module. It will automatically disable RSCA, Traction control/VSC/ABS instead of you doing the button hold/juggle/dance every time you start up your truck...

I completely disagree. How many accidents have those redundant nanny systems caused? We'll never know because the nanny system was operational and did its "job".

It amazes me how many people still don’t understand the importance of tires.

I will never be on board with anti lock brakes, traction control or any other kind of take the control away from the driver system. Learn to drive or take the bus.

traction control saved me once. had maybe 1k miles on the truck so still pretty new to me learning everything. had auto cruise on while driving to the mountains for snowboarding. car in front slowed down to turn off the high way, cruise control took over and accelerated back to speed. came around a corner and a hill was blocking the sun so there was ice on the road. still accelerating from cruise control as i hit the ice, traction control took over and kept me from spinning out.

not very smart on my part, but i didnt wreck and had a rad day snowboarding

my grandfather had one of those with the wood paneling.

My brother and I would sit in the back cargo area all the time.

It’s a miracle we didn’t die from CO poisoning.

That's a pretty big budget for just one tire.

I hate the ABS on my 04. I want to properly delete it versus just removing the fuse.

Cue @Wulf meme about CO(lorado) poisoning of transplants...

That's fine. I used to only have ABS on my 1st gen and it sucked being a single-channel system. My motorcycle had better ABS than the 1st gen, but I didn't like that one either (due to only having two wheels and riding off pavement).

I do however, like the ABS/VSC/Traction control in my 2nd gen. I know how to disable it when I want to drive offroad or be stupid in the snow.

There is a school of thought (which I happen to subscribe to) that says the safest car on the road would be made entirely of glass and have a razor sharp spike on the steering wheel pointed directly at the driver's heart. You can be damn sure the driver of that car would be extremely careful to not get into any accidents.
Honestly, I think seatbelts, air bags, and now traction control, adaptive cruise, lane sensors, etc. make for some really stupid, inattentive drivers who think the technology in their car will compensate for their ineptitude so they can now drive however they want, secure in the idea that their vehicle makes them invulnerable.
