Skunk huh. What strand?

 

When's the mod day/open garage/rib cookout to christen the garage?

I've got literally nothing on the calendar from June-Sep or so.

We all want to hear that story.

 

North American I'm guessing. Black with a white stripe.

We occasionally smell skunk out here. Today was a little stronger than usual. The dog starts barking and losing his mind. Sure enough, he's got yellow on the front of him.

 

Never heard of it

 

I tell the wife the dog got sprayed. She wants to let him in. I'm like ”hell no! We need to clean him up outside"
I'm outside investigating when he yowls pretty good. The wife opens the side door and the dog is running for it with the skunk in hot pursuit. She basically shut the door on the skunks face after the dog got in. Narrowly missed having the skunk in the house.
Dog is foaming, crying. Wife is screaming. General chaos all around accompanied by the horrid stench of skunk.

What's the opposite of here kitty kitty?

 

Wife is screaming at me to get her benadryl and a pitcher. She's got the dog in the bathtub.
The kids are screaming about the skunk being under the deck. I grab the stuff for the wife, then I grab a shotgun.

 

Sure enough, I can see the little bastard under there trying to dig a hole. Can't get a safe shot off though. The kids are jumping up and down on the deck screaming. My eyes are watering, and I'm about to puke. We can see him through the gaps in the deck wood so now I go to fetch up a 22 pistol.

The skunk moves down the house a bit where I feel like I can safely get a shot at him with the 22 pistol. It's about a 10 yard shot with the houses foundation as a back stop. So I shoot him. He's still moving. I shoot him again. And again. And he goes back to the hole where he was before.
Now the kids are screaming at me that I suck at shooting.

 

Already had a shotgun. Wasn't safe

 

Oh shit. Sorry to hear. That’s not good. Normally I don’t condone shooting urban wildlife but I’d blast that fucking thing in the face if it bit my dog.

Get the dog checked out for rabies.

 

for who? the skunk? waste ammo or waste the skunk.

 

Well he obviously wasted ammo and not the skunk so far

 

No way I missed him. (Vindicated afterwards as there's blood all under the deck)
So now the boy shoots him through the gap in the deck. This is about a 6 inch shot. Skunk starts off down the side of the house again. I'm waiting for him to pop out from under there so I can get him with the shotgun. He finds another hole and disappears down it.
