If you live in a place where vandalism or theft is a concern then I don’t think it would matter which kind you have.

Anyone with a Falcon or a Mt hood that's using an exped megamat in place of the factory mattress?

With the megamat deflated are you able to keep a sleeping bag in the tent and close the tent?

    Evening all,

So this past weekend I put on my upTop rack and my SB Gen2 XL tent.

Two areas I am looking for insight on.

    1. Could anyone recommend a locking mechanism for the tent to the rack?
(yes, i plan on keeping on all the time... dont judge me.)

    2. The way the tent brackets are positioned, and yes, I tightened them well, but did not use thread locker....
Is there a potential of the brackets shimmying loose and essentially sliding back and forth?
Is there a way to "secure" it more in place... ?

    Not much stock left.
Do you have SiriusXM? If so, is your reception crappy? I’ve been experimenting with mine to no avail. Need to look into a relocate option.

Tepui had some different nuts that thread onto the bolt that is a bit more specialized. As far as the nuts coming loose, I have only tightened mine once the day after I put it on. Been tight the last year through Colorado

Mine is in my daily driver but I have security nuts holding it down. Slashing also sounds personal....who did you hurt?!

I have the Gen1 XL it has the same mounting rails/brackets, as long as they didn't change the nuts on the gen 2 and they are still the nylock or nylon ring nuts that came on the gen 1 then you shouldn't need to worry. If it didn't come with them I would highly suggest switching them out for some nylocks. I usually leave mine on my rack for a month or more straight if I am camping most weekends and I haven't had any come loose while daily driving it.

For your first question you could look for security nuts or anti their nuts to put on one or two of the mounts.

Those look like lock nuts. If they are, you should be just fine. It looks good to me. Nice setup.

Hey guys, I need some help. I’m going to buy a RTT for my 1st gen Tacoma. I’m stuck between the FSR High Country 55 or Roam Vagabond. It’s going to be me, my wife, and 8 year old camping. I need to comfortably sleep 3.

Which one should I go with?

I would think you would want something a little bigger. Would all 3 of you fit comfortably in a queen size bed.

Well then I can’t really give you any input as I haven’t owned either brand but the prices look to be a little apples to oranges

May you would know... looking to figure out what kind of security nuts I could put on this for added security.

I know the instructions call the bolts M8, or 8mm..... but would you know if its a 8-1.25 or a 8-1.00.... what does the second number mean?
    Is that the threading?

8 is the diameter, meaning it’s 8mm. The second number is thread pitch. The nomenclature would be M8-1.25 (or whatever the appropriate size is). Best bet is undo one of the bolts and take it to the hardware store and try it on their board for figuring out sizes. Then order the appropriate security hardware from McMaster carr.

I Confirm what EatSleepTacos said:thumbsup: You might possibly find the hardware locally.
