Random stuff. Oh! and converted to non ADD 4x4.
Getting all the parts for the build over the weekend:

    -A750F trans.
    -4x4 Trans. Support.
    -FJ trx. Manual case
    -Front diff. (Tacoma 4x4 donor)
-ADD RST switch.(unless someone can share a diagram so I can make my own)
    -Front/rear drive shafts.(willing to modify the pre-runner locally(Ventura,CA))
    -Cross member modification.
    -CV axle shafts.
    -Tacoma 4x4 hubs.
    -Hardware.
    -Exhaust re-route.
    -AWS AT oil.

*CHANGED MY MIND AND WENT TO A NON ADD FRONT DIFF AND SAVE SOME BUCKS ON THE ELECTRIC SWITCH BS.

    Am I missing anything? Thanks.

Where did you find a donor? How hard was it to locate one?

They are not selling the switch any longer or what? I noticed they closed their forum board.

Indeed I have a schematic on how the ADD is “wired” internally and the part number for the connector itself that’s why I was wondering if anyone has a schematic of what they used to sell. Btw the way thanks for reminding me of the oil for the front diff./TRX case and the cover for the axle nut. And some damn anti-seize for the surfaces. I’ll be taking a dive in to the forum you linked. Thanks.

the quote above is the schematic I posted to RST forum years ago and he has been using it to make the harness

If doing a 2WD to 4WD setup, I'd just skip ADD altogether and get a diff from a 4Runner, FJ, or GX as needed. Let it spin.

So, if I get the 4 runner, fj(mt) or GX the only difference is that the front shaft will be spinning? Any downfall on MPG’s? Wear? Drag? Thanks again.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the only difference is that the front shaft spins am I correct? you still have 2H,N,4H and 4L right?

btw I am asking this questions since I never considered as an option and therefore never did the research. thanks in advance.

There will be no front diff actuator and if you use the manual transfer case from an FJ or similar you won’t need the 4x4 controller or any additional switch , just the shift lever , wire the lights in the dash and you will no longer have electronics controlling anything to do with you 4x4 system in your vehicle .and yes the front driveline and axles will spin all the time .

    I am IN. So I’ll be looking for a 4runner 3.73 ratio (03-18), FJ (MT) or GX470 (03-09) differential.

    again, thanks fellas.

I keep going back and forth on this. I like the idea of welding it to the “on” position but if I want to shift in 4wd at speed, I know it’s not designed for that. In the stock system, when you shift to 4hi, it shifts the transfer case, syncs up the gearing, and then shifts the front actuator. With the front driveshaft and hubs already moving, shifting to 4hi seems like it would be hard on the components

My reasoning was, I wanted it to be as stock as possible. There was a reason why Toyota didn't design it like that. Idk if it was to maximize mpg gains or minimize wear or what. But there is a reason behind it. I took my add off and sealed it completely with RTV so there's no chance it can fail from water.

I sealed my too already so I’m leaning towards keeping it as is. Having to come to a complete stop to activate my air locker is not good at times
