What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

lower left fuse tap was into the washer (keyed power) and the top right was into the power outlet (always on, for parking mode) the kit I got comes with a butt end connector you simply crimp on. Hope that helps

 

So does the 2008 with 410,000 miles I recently purchased.

 

You can break them off pretty easy, get a metal pole to fit over the look and break it

 

I had this happened before with a hitch w built in lock. Seized up after a couple winters. I drilled it out. It's promptly replaced with a Bolt hitch lock coded to my ignition key and best believe I check on it regularly.

 

Good idea, didn't think of that.

Any special kind of drill bit?

Nothing special. I drilled it out and was able to use a screwdriver to unlock it.

Hey bro quick question did you custom build your rear bumper? If so why did you weld your hitch under and not notch the bumper and weld it insode?

 

I did build it myself. The main tube of my bumper is 3"x4" rectangle tube. Originally I did a pass-through like you're saying but in order to access the hitch pin, it had to protrude out further than I liked. I could have gotten into the weeds and made it work by cutting out and replating a the rear of the main tube but it wasn't worth it to me. The bed of my truck is bobbed so I'm not losing any clearance by putting it on the bottom. Plus I never tow anything so I don't need the strongest hitch. I only put it on so I can put hitch accessories in there, or tow a really small trailer, less than 2,000 lbs.

 

Definitely does I have a third gen but this gave me the visual I need.

chipped some paint off of my eibach springs installing them. What should I use as touch up? Already rusting
