Advice on driving a new TRD Pro cross country prior to break in

Just bought a new TRD Pro from Phoenix. Car carrier pickup is in two weeks. I’m thinking about just driving it to Alabama tomorrow. 26 hour drive. Thoughts on the break in period?

Should I just wait? Anybody else drive a new Tacoma cross country during the break in period?

 

No break in periods unless towing to my knowledge.

 

Should be fine. If you want to follow the manual, stay off the interstate, where the temptation to run it at 80 will be too great. Take the secondary highways and enjoy your leisurely 65 mph drive.

 

Back roads through Arizona then you can hop on the interstate. I did SC to NV last year.

I would install seat risers before a 26 hr drive personally.

 

Enjoy the journey, take it easy and it will be fine I would think.

 

Don’t drive like a maniac .. smooth acceleration and deceleration and you’ll be fine.

 

Picked my Tacoma up in Houston and drove it like I stole it back to Baton Rouge.

 

I'm thinking of getting seat risers, but my torsos is too big and my legs too short. I have to legs of a dwarf.
I would worry more about your comfort than the truck. See the sights. Ive heard the corn palace, as well as the biggest ball of twine is a must see.

Yes! Nothing like driving 2 hours out of the way to see a bunch of junkers in the desert!

You'll be fine, drove mine home from Maryland to New York brand new with 0 issues.

 

Keep it at about 60 and vary your revs/engine speed. You will be OK.

 

Pro has standard power adjustable drivers seat. No risers needed.
