Same here. Wife said I can get a membership to Nardis indoor range that is a few minutes away from the house (and on my path home from work) as my birthday present next month. Their range is only 60 yards though, so not ideal for large rifles

Yep...it starts with trigger upgrades and next thing you know there is almost nothing original left as you've replaced the slide, barrel etc...

Looking at the pyramid trigger and laser kit to practice dry fire. Just picked up a IWB Kydex holster so I’m definitely diving into that rabbit hole

DFW PEEPS..... I am shooting 100 yard Benchrest at my club next Saturday. I should be done about 12:00 noon, but then I need to fire form some more brass in a new rifle. If you would like to come out and get some trigger time on my new rifle, PM me. I should have 50-100 pieces to fire depending on how this next week goes for making the brass.

Cost is $5 to the club (and I will pay that). You will need to bring your own eye and ear protection (I can supply it, but will need to know before hand).
If you want to come a little early, and see some of the most accurate short range rifles in the world, come early, and sit behind a few of them. I bet you will get to shoot one or two if you like.

Here is a link for address and more info.

Fellow member. I need to get out there and continue my 7mag load development and start messing with a 22-250 my FIL gave my son for his 10th birthday.
What caliber are you fire forming?

First impressions on the Walther PPS M2.

Holy shit this sucker is snappy, I guess that's what happens when you've got 9mm flying out of a ~3" barrel. Accuracy is pretty good but I did have to adjust my aim from what I'm used to with my VP9 & G19.

    I am fire forming 6ppc.
I take 220 Russian brass, neck it up to 6mm (.243), turn the necks to .0112" , push the shoulder at the neck junction down .020", set a 66 grn bullet very long so that it jams into the lans, and fire form it to the 6ppc.
The rifle is a Stiller Viper aluminum action with a stainless steel insert. It's Right Bolt, Left Port, and Bottom Eject (it drops the fired casing out of the bottom of the action when the bolt is retracted fully after firing. The trigger is set to just 1.5 ounces, so I like to let new shooters dry fire it a few times before actually placing a live round in the chamber.
The rifle weighs 10.5 pounds with scope and rings, so its a very mind recoil.
I didn't take any pictures today (which is not like me) so I don't have any to share.

I was able to get out today and get 70 done, so I only have 30 left to do.
Below is a pic of the beginning and the end result. You can see the shoulder angle on the fired casing is greater. This allows you to get 1.0 - 2.0 more grains in the case (same ideology as the Ackley Improved family of cases).

In April, I will have my 6mm BR AI finished, and will need to fire form those cases also. That rifle has been in the building process for 2 years. I am sooooo ready for it to be done.

Very cool. I watched a guy fire form 6ppc and then turn around on the little bench facing the officer shack and load a finished round. Had a tiny press but he was shooting very well from what I could see of his targets.
