    Lot of weight why?

I’m in a similar space with my truck. Empty weight is ~1400lbs over stock, with my armor (steel front and rear HC bumper, full skids, sliders, hammer hangers) and recover stuff, camper shell, roof racks.

I wheel pretty hard at that weight and need the armor.

but then load that shit up and go mild to med wheeling with a truck full of camping gear, kayaks, fridge, awning.

It’s not a lot of weight if he uses it.

    Looks great!!

That will keep you in shape! Wait until you see what happens to your gas mileage!

Of course it will depend how you drive. My tire and wheel combo is pushing 90# and I can still get 18 MPG.

Meh. No heavier than a RTT I reckon.

Right but you don't take down a RTT for trail repairs. A spare tire and jack, however....

Ahh. I was just thinking about weight distribution.

I was considering moving my spare to the roof, as it will no longer fit underneath once I get the matching 295. I wasn't looking forward to heaving it up there but I figured I would make it work somehow. At this point I think I'm moving it into the cargo area though.

Yeah, keep it low. Also, 33s will fit under our trucks with a little persuasion.

I was going to ask what the biggest tire that will fit in the spare would be.

Even if it would fit, I've been wanting to get it out from underneath for awhile. It collects so much dirt. I'm not keen on a swing mount right now, so the roof or cargo area makes the most sense.

    I know a 285/70/17 fits under a 4runner. :)

I say go for the cargo area unless you're actually hauling cargo. When I'm wheeling I always pull my spare ratchet it down into the bed

Yeah but then you end up with a dirty tire inside your vehicle

I always have some cargo. But, I'm thinking about making my sleeping platform narrower so I can slide the tire in next to it. When the platform is out, I can slide it in next to my cooler and tools. I think this is the best way to go. I just need to figure out a good way to secure it in place.

I will have to figure out something for this. Maybe some sort of waterproof tire coozy. :D

I would just put it in the back of @CygnusX191 truck and hope no one notices. The best way to reduce weight is to make someone else carry it
