I had to use square welding nuts. I bought 4 different types, they all had slightly different heights and play. Also, my rack came with brace brackets that had to be repositioned compared to where the original instructions suggested placing them to avoid the excess of the bolts from hitting the positive air vent. I also purchased shorter feet for the rack which was likely the issue for what I previously mentioned. They’re only 1/2 inch shorter but it made a difference compared to the roof rack that’s currently installed.

I was going to wait for GFCs topper as well but I’m not willing to wait another year for them to announce it and actually have it produced. My experience with the superlight tent is enough for me. Order that in October and looking to receive end of April. I placed my order for the EVOA today and not looking back.

So the install video mentions the possibility of the front of the bed being lower than the rest of the bed. Of course on my Gen 3 (and in their own video), the front of the bed is HIGHER than the rest of the bed.

Anyone else address this issue? I plan to sandwich an adhesive-backed foam strip between the cap and the D- gasket down each side. Not ideal, but don't have any other ideas. Also not sure how well the back door will seal along the edge of the tailgate afterwards.

It wasn’t an issue. Mine looked the same as yours it’s a thick very nice gasket and sealed everything up. Only thing I did was seal the corners. I tried the extra bit of grey foam seal they sent for that purpose, but took it out because it wasn’t needed.

Same situation. Ignored height diff so seal could do its thing, but did close gap off by pulling the front plugs out to match/meet sides, then just used a little putty to fill in and smooth the transition evenly. I have the roll sitting aside thinking, 'did I mess up' and 'now what do I do with it'? All in all worked fine.

Got my RSi Evo Adventure installed acouple days ago. Here’s some pics for all the Barcelona Red Tacos who might want to see what it’ll look like. From Oregon so I will update about how it performs in the rain.

Mine arrived yesterday. The driver showed up at dinner time; thankfully, I was home. I have a 200' long caliche driveway. The driver pulled to pallet jack, and I pushed like Vince Lombardi was yelling at me to keep moving! At 235 pounds and 6'3", I don't know who was more surprised at the speed of that crate moving down the driveway, me of the driver. 2" lip into the shop was no issue, just kept pushing the whole way. My knees are letting me know I'm no longer 18! Ordered from OffroadAlliance a week ago, in the shop last night. Not bad. Good thing I haven't skipped leg day in the gym!

For folks with the EVO Sport. I'm just curious, can you see through the windows and check your blind spots? Not a huge concern, but honestly that might sway me towards the Sport. I don't trust other drivers much at all.

Blind spots are why I always run small bubble mirrors on all of my cars. I even convinced my wife to get some after she dove my 4runner with them for a couple days. She got back in her scion and asked me to get some for her because she felt blind without them.

I second this. Bubble mirrors are a cheap life saver.

For everyone thinking about getting the RSI Smart Cap I would give it some serious consideration. I had one put on my 2021 Tacoma and seriously regret it. First, it leaks quite a bit around the windows. Every time it rains there is water in the back of my truck. Second, I ordered the load bars at the end of January and was told I should receive them in 2 weeks. I was told today they are hoping to have them by the end of April (90 days). I can understand being behind, but my credit card was charged on the day of purchase. Part of the reason I purchased this product was for the customization, you can't customize if you can't get the accessories. The Smart Cap is not a cheap item, I expected more for the premium price you pay. Just wanted to share my experience. If I had a do-over, I would go a different route.
