Buyer Beware: KTJO 4X4 Driver's Side Grab Handles w/ A Pillars, HUD, and Bowl Lights

Missed the comments again She’s quick at getting rid of them.

 

She must do it in spurts. Some were up for a while.

Regardless, the best part are that most all are negative. It's not exactly shocking, but the weight of that has to pull the situation down.

 

I've installed the three one touch window switches, rear window one touch switch, door bowl lights, driver side grab handle. All are working great, and were shipped in a timely manner. DIY folding mirrors are on the way. I have the tailgate opener, but yet to install due to waiting on some more parts that were an afterthought on my part. I'll probably order the heads-up display too. Not sure why I have such good luck. Nobody else makes these parts, so I'm happy someone provides. It's a mixed bag, I guess...

 

UPDATE: I have been informed that the US Customs has detained all 165 Boxes and they want to inspect all the goods in our container. Now, we are waiting on customs to inform my agent/vendor so they can cooperate with them for a full inspection of all the goods. After inspection is complete, they will release all product to UPS for delivery to me.​

I'm sure that is what she's hoping for, but no guarantee that's how it actually shakes out.

 

While posting the tracking was helpful for us, it might have made Toyota 'OEM' investigation easier?


That said, I have had packages opened, including one that I was hoping to maybe keep sealed. Customs popped that cherry for me.

 

I wonder if it is all just coincidence that it's getting held up at customs or if it's actually due to Toyota taking action or not. I'd be surprised that Toyota would act that fast given how slow they are to do other things. But honestly, you bring that amount of stuff from China more than once in a relatively short time frame while not actually being a legit registered business (unless that's changed) it was bound to get held up at customs eventually.

Good questions.

Large goods shipments going to non-businesses is an interesting thought. Would Customs get involved in a business and operating tax fraud investigation all on their own? Maybe it was flagged up from the account side?

Lots of things to speculate about.


Or, it could have been packed in a container with a gray market item like a JDM car? And the KTJO 4x4 shipment was a non-issue. Although, the line about inspecting all goods could be a clue.

While I personally hope it's due to Toyota about to bring the hammer down, it's probably more likely that it got flagged due to the size and frequency of the shipment to an unregistered "business". Customs does have systems that can verify legit business licenses and different algorithms that flag shipments for various reasons.

Interesting. I have only shipped a few large items for an actual business. Not much came up in question there, but we're legit. I have been asked for a reseller certificate when buying from suppliers though, as we are using the parts in our own items.
