Is there any issues running a progressive AAL to the ICON RXT. I spoke with ICON rep and they do not advise in putting an AAL in the RXT leaf pack. Also never heard of stage 4...any truth to this?!

If you guys really think you are that heavy in the back, you probably want to be looking at a custom leaf pack. But personally I dont think you will any problem with option 3

Icon "stage 4" is part of Icon's marketing lingo for whole suspension packages, not the same as option 1-3 with the RXT leaf packs.

Anyway, I can see how a stiff AAL will limit the RXT leaf pack's flexibility, which was its selling feature - more travel when used in conjunction with the RXT shocks with the offset eyelet.

I’m still waiting on my leaf pack to ship but does anyone that have them, is there any room left in the pack to add another leaf if I wanted option 4 lol. I mean option three should be fine for right now but let’s say 6 to 8 months down the road I need to put another leaf, is there room in the pack for an extra one? Of course when I contacted icon about it they said there’s no way obviously for liability reasons but can you?

It'll be technically doable with longer center pins. You'll also have to run without the roller sleeves on the retainer clips (not a big deal). Icon's warranty will be voided as well, for what that's worth. However, at that point you negate all the selling points of the Icon leaf pack, so you might as well go with something else designed for the heavier weight.

Thank you for the information, I was technically you can I get a Deaver springs. But I couldn’t justify spending 1200 bucks just on leaf springs and work wasn’t willing to pay that much. They were only willing to pay for the RXT leaf springs because it was in their price range so I’m gonna pair option 3 with the sumo springs so it helps with heavier loads. So I should be perfectly fine. The ome leafs are ok but they ride kind of rough so these should run smoother for sure from what people say

So, I wanted to sanity check this before I get started. I have a RXT leaf pack that I'll be installing soon on my DCLB. I've got most of my weight installed already in the form of a snugtop canopy, sliders, tools, recovery gear, water storage etc. I drove across a scale the other day and it looks like my rear axle was at 2800lbs with a family day trip in the back. I suspect that was about as light as it will ever be in the back (from there we just add camping gear or firewood or whatever). I'm looking to be around 1.5" to 1.75" of lift after settling. I was planning on installing at option 2 and going up or down if needed after a month or so (obviously not taking the leafs off a second time would be ideal)

If anybody sees a problem please speak up, otherwise I'll come back when I'm done with pictures and measurements.

Option 2 is great. Will give you up to 2inches of lift after settling and will be able to hold the weight well.

So, I installed my suspension and I'm hoping for a decent amount of settling. I went with option 2 because I've got a snugtop and keep a bunch of tools in the back. I stopped by a scale with a day trip loaded up (family, some firewood, light gear, basic tools) and had a 5900 truck weight with a 2800 rear axle. My initial install measurements took me from 20.25 hub to fender to 24.25 hub to fender. 4" was a bit more than I expected and looks a bit tall in the back. I wonder if the 4" measurement change is because I was a little saggy in the back before?

I'm getting it all aligned and then will load it down and shake it down and hope for some decent settling. I haven't added any shims or done any trouble shooting, I'll let it break in and solve any problems as they come up. Also, I'd like to take a moment to curse the front leaf spring bolts, talk about a miserable bolt to break loose.

I am going to be installing option three next weekend on my truck. Can you post some pictures of the lift height with option two? Thank you

I'm in a similar situation. I have an empty bed and on option #2. I'm going to go to option #1 as soon as I get a chance.

Here's another. Note that in this pic I'm at 3"+ of lift upfront. I adjusted down to 2.5" since then.

Ha so I am also sitting at 24.25” in the rear after install...have you had any settling yet? Really only wanted 2.25” max

Stock is typically 22'' hub to fender+/~. When I added my topper I dropped down to 20.5/ 21 ish on stock leafs, and would regularly hit the bumps. Rxt's on option 2 am sitting @ 24/24.25'' hub to fender. Difference being pass. to driver side. This is with the said topper as well as about 140lbs of tools constant in back. Technically you got exactly the lift you wanted. Good looking truck

I didn't install my u bolt flip when I did the rear, was missing 1 nut. Question is, can I do the flip with it on the ground or do I have to torque them with no weight? TIA

Pretty sure you want to torque with wheels on the ground

Anyone know what is the size of the center bolt and nut for the ICON RXT pack?
