Man this thread makes me sad.

i have a 2019 pro purchased in july of 2019

of course covid hit not far after. I randomly look and 4runners pro tacomas pro finding one new in texas is rare. Maybe 1-5 within 500 miles of houston.

Hope yall all get your trucks.

So I got an update, gave the dealership the go ahead 3 weeks ago to place my order. Today they informed me that Toyota still hasn't accepted the build request. Apparently the trd exhaust is holding the order up. :annoyed:

If l had to guess l would think the exhaust would be a Port or Dealer installed option, should not impact a factory build.

I had to wait for Toyota for two months until they "approved" my build and allocated it to my dealer and gave a build date.

I placed an order for a 2021 Rav4 TRD in lunar rock color on 10/25/2020. Dealer still does not have an idea of delivery date. He told me that there are all sorts of issues due to covid. Some cars are coming in with no mats, and they have to buy it locally. I am just going to wait as we built the car to spec and keep car 20 plus years.

Just spoke to the salesman, same story. I asked about the Tacoma and Tundra's. He said they can only count on Toyota allocation and anything customized is on hold.

Covid has thrown everything in chaos mode except the stock market, it keeps going up and up with unlimited fiat money being pumped into it.

The dealership updated me, they say my truck has been accepted by Toyota, build date 4/15. It's a dcsb or, no packages, added roof rack and trd exhaust, bed mat.

Build date of 4/15 here as well. However, now I’m reading that the Mexico plant might get shut down for a few months because of supply chain issues stemming from the Texas blackouts. Hopefully they work it out but it doesn’t sound promising at all...sigh.

I've got an order/request in - maybe I'll wait till 2022 if I can't get truck by mid-summer (and anything on the lots probably just got more expensive). Beginning to wonder if it may be the wrong year to buy new, even if they get back on-line, the chaos can't be good...

Each day I don't hear anything about my Pro MT order makes me less optimistic. These shutdowns certainly won't help.

I'm not in a big rush for my truck but I would like to know if I'll be able to get a 2021 Pro MT or not.

Agree, the wait wouldn't be that bad. It's the uncertainty that kills

Ordered January 29th. Looks like it will be "at the dealer" on the 5th of April.

When were they able to give you the 03/12/21 build date? They are projecting a 04/22/21 delivery date for me but i still haven't seen a build date.

I can tell you I was given a build date of 4/12 and prebuilt vin# on 3/8. I would imagine if they’ve located an actual vehicle that is being allocated then they should be able to provide you with a vin# and build date as well. Someone on this forum had said that it’s really a build week and not the actual day. And that the vin# will change once it is being built with the actual vin# the vehicle will carry.

It's unlikely the Tacoma you want will be on the dealer lot. I checked dealer website inventory for months and nothing. When I was ready to buy, I contacted the dealer and told them what I wanted. They said they just happened to be expecting three allocations in my color choice in just a few weeks once they are built and provided me the temp vin numbers of each. I checked https://www.toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle/vehicle-specification to see which one had closest specs to what I wanted, put a deposit and had it in less than a month.
