    Well my 2.8 pulley Tacoma runs pretty damn good, but not new mustang good! Ol'boy was pretty surprised I was still close to him though!!!

    Lol yeah it might seem like a dumb question but ive been having head gasket issues with the other truck so i am definitely curious if everyone is happy in the long term. I am loving the HP tune so far, just looking for some more safety features for the engine since its now back to being the daily

    Im super paranoid so the guardian feature would be nice to have. Also the adaptives can dial in the AFRs for the 625ml/min of water meth im spraying. Mainly just a safety thing and i was considering a 2.8 pulley and my truck is HP tuned for the 2.5 right now so UCon could dial that in too

    The damn 4 cylinder. Already have the head off and had it resurfaced. Waiting on the new head gasket and toyota fipg to put it all back together

    No sir sure havent, but the truck has never even been overheated. The gentlemen at the machine shop said the head looked great and it didnt take much for him to true it up so im hoping the block is good. Its iron too, so it has that going for it. I am definitely gonna take a straight edge to it before i reassemble though. Best to go from one corner to the other when checking right?

    Was the UCON actually built with meth in mind? I'm wondering if the adaptives are compensating for the different afr values of meth vs gas? Both have different afr values so the readings when meth is sprayed get skewed. If you tune for a good gas afr value WITH meth spraying at the same time it's not a good thing. @JustDSM brought that to my attention before.

    The two options are:

    Tune safely for gas and then add meth for cooling and more power.

    Or tune on a dyno and have fail-safes installed so you don't grenade your engine if the spray stops.

    Iron blocks can still twist. Not saying that's what going on for yourself but just something to look at. Corners yes but also look around the bores. Simple straight edge and flashlight can help determine either it's true or not. Did the shop tell you how much much they took off and have a gasket to compensate the difference? Did you get new head bolts or studs?

    I'm not sure, i would venture to say no as far as the design goes. I dont think the sensors would be adjusting based on gas or meth but rather only gas.

    That is a very good point, but it always runs richer than in the 11s at WOT so i dont think there is a big issue as far as the tune goes, but i could definitely see how that could be a no no if you tune to be dependent on it and then something in the system fails. Scott told me at one point that the UCon was pulling around 20% fuel on the WOT adaptive when the water meth was spraying. I think with my truck the UCon targets a 10.5:1 AFR because of the overall load on the motor. It used to be around 11.5 that it'd target when i had a larger pulley on it, but when i dropped a size and reset i guess it passed that engine load/target AFR threshold. Definitely some good food for thought though


    Thanks for the heads up, i will definitely give things the evil eye before reassembly.

    Yes, i told the shop to take .010" off and i took the old gasket in and it measured to .020". The new gasket i ordered is .030" so it should work well. Yes i did upgrade to ARP head studs so hopefully this gasket will last longer than the 5k that the other two did

    I'm pretty sure honda bond is the same. Hit up your local honda power sports shop. It is an item they keep on the self. I used it on the front timing cover on my engine. I think it make more power now.
