Oh I wasn't implying you are in the wrong, just saying we were only allowed to carry our phones and had to sign papers we would not use the camera function................anywhere on campus.

Of course my buddy just now sent me a picture of a box of donuts from the very same factory!

All depends on the shop. I know a guy who got fired and investigated for taking a picture of an engine bell for ULA. (I got a pic of that exact same bell, and the ones I made for spacex, guess I'd be a better spy) That shop was super strict though. Caught with phone out, fired. Now I'm working at a shop that lets us listen to headphones and everyone's phone is out all the time.

Mate works in a sub yard and only mobile phones allowed had to have the cameras permanently disabled. He’d drill them out and put epoxy into them and be good to go. Said he made enough to buy a really nice rifle doing it as a side hustle.

Throw it on the photocopier and then stuff it in an inter office mailer like the rest of us.

Wow. So security policy changes from shop to shop within the same company?

No. Different companies. I've worked for several. I try to tell people not to stay at the same shop for more than 6-12 months. Each shop will only train you as far as they need you. You want to learn all you can to make yourself as valuable as possible, so companies fight to hire you and that usually means more $$. That doesn't apply if you're at one of the big legacy shops though. General dynamics, boeing, etc. Both itar compliant though.

cool tool honestly, seems like a good thing to keep in your spare tire kit, instead of the traditional cross tire iron thing. I don't have any experience with the brand, the name seems kind of cheesy/cheap to me, but the tool itself seems like a cool idea.

at home, I just use the lowest setting on my impact gun (the max torque on that setting is lower than the spec for the lugs), to "hand tighten" them, then use a normal torque wrench to torque them to the spec. This wouldn't replace that technique for me.

But the proper torque is easy. 3 ugga duggas on the impact.

Finally broke down and bought an air hose reel. Bought once, cried once, went with the goodyear real, the steel one, $130 or so i dont remember. Nice and strong coil. I cant believe i waited so long. Dragging out the air hose, wrapping it back up gets old! Ive done this for 20 plus years so yes i know you can get away without one. The 50' reaches cars parked outside the garage too.

Your post reminds me that I used one of the Harbor Freight reels to hook up a long really good quality extension cord then used a hole saw to drill a hole in the side of my shed so I could feed the extension cord out. Screwed the hole onto a thin piece of oversized wood and I stick it back in the hole when I am not using the extension cord. The cord reaches everywhere inside the shed easily and can reach all the way out to the driveway if I need it. It easily pulls out to extend to the length I need and then when I am done I just wind it back up. Takes literally less than a minute for the 100' length and is then stored nice and high up on the wall out of the way. I do have to unroll the cord then plug it in once it is completely extended where I want it but it is a small price to pay.
