Decided to replace my Crankshaft Position Sensor today due to some rough idling. Plugs have already been done. No codes but it wasn't included in the recall so it has me suspicious. But in the process of putting the bolt back, I literally had it drop in the driveway or somewhere on the truck and cannot find it at all. Does anyone know the size of the bolt or have a part number? I can't find it online anywhere.

Isn’t it just the regular m6x1.0 bolt with a 10 mm head?

Take a bolt off some other component and try to thread it in the ckp sensor spot. If it fits, go to an autozone and buy an identical bolt.

Yeah. Thanks. I was in a bind. Had my driveway blocked. Ended up using one from my wife's car, that happened to work.

Yeah, she'll get it back once I pick up a new one today. It was holding a bracket, that wasn't holding anything.

There was a recall or tsb a few years ago for '16 and '17, but many of us were left off the vin number list. It was due to excess anti-corrosion lubricant on the shaft, causing the sensors to read improperly. For many, their vehicles stalled on them. Unfortunately, a couple years ago I would've fell under all the warranties.

If your vin wasn’t on the recall list, then your part wasn’t effected

If your crank sensor was bad this will not cause a rough idle. A bad crankshaft sensor usually will set a code but most always have long crank time before starting.. [pcm does not know where the #1 piston is to fire]. I would be checking into dirty fuel INJS or dirty [throttle plate on back side]

I appreciate the feedback. I was getting shudder along with the idle bounce and so far, the sensor has fixed the issue. I cleaned the throttle body when I changed the plugs. Overall it wasn't that bad. I went ahead and used some fuel treatment today as well. I'm satisfied with it now.

So you are saying that the CS has repaired the shudder ?? WOW, Interesting...I wonder if cleaning the TB and fuel treatment was the answer...I have never had a CS do this.. Keep me posted..
