I've been hanging around on TW for a while, so I'm throwing up a quick build thread.

2006 Prerunner SR5 Dbl Cab SB.

    Current Pics (1/16/11):

    Build Story:

Note: I'm doing all of this on a pretty tight budget, and I'm sure there is a member or two here that will eventually recognize parts I purchased off the B/S/T subforum. I've done all the work myself (with some much appreciated help of a couple of friends).

    as acquired (April 2010):

I think the previous owner probably used it as a work truck. The interior was thrashed and it smelled like holy hell. I got a good deal, though, and it was nothing a little work couldn't correct.
First order of business was to clean the interior out. Pics of cleaning are boring, so I will spare you. Most of the first mods were to get it to where the wife wouldn't complain about riding in it. Such as...

    Mods (between 4/10 - 10/10):
leather interior - light grey (installed by yours truly)
    WeatherTech floor mats
Clarion CX609 (DDIN w/ Bluetooth, Sirius, IPod/IPhone control, and SWI-Jack… and lots of ugly)
Removed the hideous chrome nerf bars
Went through a couple of air freshening cabin filters, and a BUNCH of carpet shampoo.

I wish I had a picture of the original seat skins before I tore them out. They were beyond saving. The leather made such a massive difference for the better. Pictures do not do it justice.

Finally got the old car running and sold (another long story... lets just say studying for law school makes projects last much longer than they should). That means wheel monies, kids!! Of course, I first had to bribe the wife with something nice in order to get permission to drop the money on my truck. You know, since I got married, mods seem to "cost" almost twice as much as before... funny how that works. Anyway... where were we? ah, yes...

    October-ish 2010

    Moto Metal 957 - 17x9" & Kumho KL78 285/70-17:
(went with Kumho because they are relatively lighter-weight, street friendly tread pattern, and PRICE… I like them a lot so far)

    - color matched grille (needs a respray, but does the trick for time being)
    - Bilstein 5100
    - OME 885
    - Wheelers 3-leaf add-a-leaf (1.5" lift)
    - Camburg Ball Joint UCAs

Update 1/16/11: Hella 700ff lights behind grillcraft. Got them mounted w/in 1/2" of the grille. Smoked/BHLM headlights coming tomorrow.

    Coming Very Soon:
    -Amp, Speakers, single 10" sub
-A decent amount of sound deadening
-BHLM or (more likely) black ebay healights
    - Debadging everything, clay bar job, and full buff and wax.

Need to find as cheap as possible:
-Silver Tailgate (mine is dinged up a bit, and it bugs me)
-Black base model bumper (my bumper has a small dent...no biggie... but it's the only chrome piece left on the truck and needs to go ASAP)

    Down the road:
    HID headlight retrofit
    Sliders
    Hi-Lift Jack
different gauge display color (color undecided... white, blue, or both)
    CAI
    exhaust (maybe)
    a few random other things

    way, WAY down the road:
Supercharger (in a couple years... If/when I get a job after school)

Do you have your Billys set at 0? Great looking truck bud. Thanks for any input, I'm gonna be running a similar lift set up here soon...thats why I was inquiring :) My spacer lift has to go. I already have the Billy 5100s for the front, now I just have to buy some for the rear and get a 2" AAL from Toytec and the OME 885s lol!

Yeah... Billies at zero. No top plates. I did change out to the longer top plate studs on the driver's side, just in case I do encounter some lean at some point. That way I don't have to dissassemble the struts if I want to add the spacer. So far I haven't seen any sign of taco lean that needs to be corrected. From what I've read, the newer OME springs (i.e. 885x) have been "scragged", so they are less prone to sagging over time.

On the rear springs, I left the overload leaf in the spring pack below the add-a-leaf (the AAL pack is designed to replace the overload leaf) My original springs appeared to be sagging quite a bit, and the overload leaf basically acts like an extra .5" spacer below the spring. Even WITH the overload spring, it still looks a little nose-high to me. Not that I'm complaining... I like the stance as is.

That's an option, for sure. It has a dent on one side that I would have to pound out, and I don't know if I could get it looking as good as I would like. I think it would be easier to get a base model bumper.

Added a couple of Hella 700ff (8") last night. I used Klipp11's method, but had to add 2" tabs with a 1" spacer/riser off the crossbar in order to get the 700's to center up and mount flush with the grillcraft. So far so good.
