No I’m pretty sure I’ve seen others doing it on here. Just nobody’s active or seeing this

I have put in Racesport gen3 leds I'm the process of doing a custom audio overhaul which will include Hybrid audio unity 6x9 mid bass, unity 3 inch mid driver in the dash and fiberglassing tweets in pilar soundeading all the doors, floors, and headliner and I will be using a helix processor to retain the factory radio and as far as subs I might make custom brackets to move rear seat foward a few inches to get a full size sub in there or I might just go with a pair of jl tw5 or tw3 and it will all be powered by jl audio HD amps or I might try out the new hybrid amps
I was going to put in my Hybrid LEGATIA SE 8 inch drivers in my door to replace my hybrid unity neo 6x9 and upon talking to Scott(owner of hybrid audio and former iasca a champ) he said I would gain pretty much no noticeable difference in my truck. I’m running fully active with dsp and my doors are fully sound treated and I only wanted to swap them to be able to say I had them lol

If I had a dollar for everytime I did something that made no sense, but did it because people said it wouldnt work I would have enough for a baconator at wendys.

Ive been looking at focal utopia 8s, but at $999 each, I will have to wait till the wifes not around to even think about getting them.

Kinda surprising to me but I guess going from 6x9 will be lessor difference than 6.5 to 8. Everybody keeps telling me to fit the 8” Utopia M rather than the 6.5” if I can in anyway possible

I'll be honest, I'm going through the research because I have an itch, and want to say I did that. That said, I think I'm just going to hold on to what I have, and wait for Karma to release their 6x9.

Well I just ordered a pair of WM 8” for $250 off each so I will update with my thoughts ASAP. Got a good deal on a set. It was killing me not to have the matching mid bass with mid range and tweets and I keep reading and hearing about how awesome the 8” sounds

I guess I really knocked some people loose in this thread, the one in DIYMA and on facebook LMAO. I think the thread I created on DIYMA has the most activity of any of the 6x9 threads I have found.....

But you saved $500, that's a great deal. Honestly, I wouldn't mind buying the HAT U69S.....

Yep I did and planned on it sometime anyway lol it’s not really anything that wasn’t bound to happen as soon as I got a taste of the Utopia mids and highs I knew I was doomed. So when I was told $1500 I said let’s do it and get it over with. Was either $1150 for WM6.5s or $1500 for the 8s

i'm actually thinking of running dual 6.5" woofers in the front doors. need to make an adapter anyways!

While I like the idea, make sure the stock grill is going to have enough open space. I would even say it might be better to run a 6.5 and a 4 inch in the door. But with a 4 down that low it might not sound the best pointed at your ankles.

yea, it's a lot of idea's for me at this point-- i like to let things set and marinate in my head for a while before taking action. all i know is i've got 2 SB Acoustics 8" woofers, as well as 4 Peerless 6.5" HDS woofers gathering dust, and it'd be nice to make them do something..

i'm all but figuring that my audio build once i get around to it is going to take 3+ months of having the truck entirely gutted...

Do the peerless have the flat sides? might be a little more "doable" if they got the flat sides.
