I’ve flipped mine on a couple times just to verify it works but that’s about it. I just run ATRAC if I need it.

 

I watched the first few minutes. I was going to watch the rest after replying, but I got distracted here.

I tend to agree with him, and have pretty much used the locker for the exact reasons suggested.

This is good stuff! I think some parts of the Pipeline have been shut down due to people making side-tracks. If I get to something I can't, or don't want to attempt to drive through, I back out.

I have used mine in some rocks. I got hung up a few times, and flipped it on to get past an obstacle. As suggested in the video, I used it to avoid damaging the 4runner. I'm sure I could have gotten through some spots with momentum, but speed and rocks seems like a recipe for broken parts.

I think it's the most valuable feature the off-road comes with. A-TRAC is awesome, too!

 

There have been a handful of times when a rear locker would have been nice.

Cowboy camping in the back of the truck. That dude was something else.

 

That dude is a character! He drove from frickin Nebraska to Boulder lake, Wisconsin just to camp with us and run the Pipeline. We threw a canopy over the bed of his truck when it rained. IDK if he even had a sleeping bag.

 

Didn't realize he got around that much.

He drove from McDonalds in Lincoln NE all the way to SE Milstadt IL just to drill out the battery tray holder on his truck.

 

He probably tested the closest McDonalds to Milstadt too. Gotta see which state has the best nugs.

 

I'm pretty sure he literally just layed in the back of his truck with no padding or anything.
