Those are the only issues so far. I dropped off at my mechanic and he's going to do a full diagnostic to make sure my truck's fine. Then dropping off to get re-geared and maybe front locker.

 

Filled up 1 dumpster at the cabin now have to have 2nd one dropped just to finish cleaning out the place before I can even start any work it.

Morning. What 3rd row Toyota should I get for the wife? Highlander, T4R, or Sienna? Not looking at Sequoia's. One thirsty 5.7 in the family is enough

 

Flushed out my front differential, now my truck runs and drives like new! Learn from my mistake and get extended differential breathers!!!

 

I guess it comes down to what will this vehicle be used for! Road trips that may go off pavement? then T4R. 100% highway and a family transport, then go with whichever fits your family best!

 

I don't know much about the new siennas, but when I was growing up my parents had a 2000 Sienna and a still have a 2005. They were great for holding my brother, sister and I as well as picking up our friends for various things. Lots of space for road trip luggage too, that may be lacking in the highlander and t4r

I would be careful with the 3rd row 4runners, as the 3rd row is right at the back. Theres a picture of a 4th gen around where the entire trunk area is crumpled in from a (big) impact, so anyone that may have been in the optional 3rd row would be squished pretty good

I was always threatened with getting the 2000 Sienna as my first car, and in hindsight it would have been much cheaper than me buying the 4runner lol. And the ability of the van to pick up all your friends to go play frisbee or to Chick-fil-a is great.

 

I like the highlander. I thought it was pretty spacious, they also have a hybrid option if you want improved gas mileage.

 

The furthest off road it will go is like wet grass... maybe

 

The minivan makes so much sense for a family...but it's a minivan lol. We're looking hard at the Highlander, but it still wouldn't be as practical as a van. In a van you don't have to worry about kids flinging doors open.

 

We don't commute very far...or at all anymore, so burning a few extra dinosaurs is okay. I may never commute again. My wife will eventually.

 

Also the sliding doors are very easy to put things in through the side, vs a swing door. I find it anying to try to fit a tote in through the side door of my 4runner vs the minivan sliding door. As a kid, my brother and I took out the middle row seats and just sat in the back and pretended it was a helicopter, good times lol.

At one point my family was running dual minivans, they're pretty handy

My friend that has 3 kids has a newer AWD Sienna and loves it. That thing wasn't cheap, if I remember correctly it was $52k. Hers is fully loaded and pearl white.

 

I hate Minivans but i almost hate 3rd row seating in 4runners more
