Ah ok that makes sense. I was reading in some cases you can be granted a 'temporary clearance' until your official one goes through, but that it's rare. It seemed like they were somewhat urgently looking for someone which made me wonder how if the clearance can take so long. 3 months isn't too bad though.

It's all for not anyway if they can't offer me more.

I was thinking last night...this is exactly how spies are made. Hired by the government, given a secret security clearance, pay them a wage that's nowhere near in line with the local cost of living, job requirements or background requirements....sooner or later that person gets recruited by the Russians and works as a double agent. Its a tale as old as time

I've seen The Americans, I know how this goes

Interim clearance isn't rare at all. Raytheon does it all the time for new employees that come in and don't have a clearance yet. Once you start the process, you are granted the interim clearance as long as there aren't any red flags. Full clearance takes some time as they poke and prod over most everything. If you don't have a clearance, it's not like you can just go out and get one by yourself. You need to have a company, NASA or Raytheon for example, sponsor you. They pay for all the work and such that goes into the background check.

You aren't wrong on that about the spies and how data spill, leaks and stuff like that happen most commonly. Except now it's more common for the Chinese to be trying to coerce people into that.

Just about everyone here at work who has had their vaccine has taken the day off after their second one. I'm not getting a vaccine unless it's manditory. I either had covid and didn't get any symptoms or I'm Superman and won't get it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Ditto on the last part...I will get the vaccine eventually just so that I can put some of my family at ease that we want to start seeing again. But as far as getting covid goes, I either got it and didn't realize it or somehow managed to avoid it when literally 95% of everyone here at work was out with it at some point. IDK

Wish I hadn't missed my appointment for the antibody test lol.

Same here, I get laid off for the summer on May 1st and will be in limited contact all summer. I will probably have to get it in the fall. I am so looking forward to this season being over!

Yup, Photoshop 101 - lighting needs to match the direction and type of shadows, that's usually the first giveaway that something is poorly photoshopped. Other thing is usually poor cutouts/paste
