Now the Rest of the Story !!

I can understand we had the one Woman in the office delete a few hundred emails.

It seems somehow they Refunded My Payment instead of someone else and With Pay Pal they just can`t take the money again.

I sent it again and Wow it Showed up Monday all ready 3/15/2021 Sure beats 30 days.

Made an appointment to get my eyes checked next Tuesday, vision was 20/40 last time I had them checked 2 or 3 years ago. It's getting worse, time for new lenses in my glasses.

Back story then opinion time, if you please.

Through work we get points for tracking exercise, calories, various challenges, etc. For the year we can build up a maximum of 25,000 points to redeem for various items (apparently 2,000 points have already been redeemed so I'm down to 23k maximum). The vast majority of the items I have no interest in but there are 2 that I'm currently wrestling with. One I've wanted for quite a while and the other would be cool but I'm not sure how much it would truly get used.

First off, the one I've wanted for a while - a Yedi Houseware Infinity Sous Vide for 14,500 points.

    soux vide.jpg

This would leave me with about 8k to use on something else. I have an inquiry in but haven't heard back yet as to if it comes with the stuff shown on the Amazon page for it:

    https://www.amazon.com/Infinity-Powered-Octcision-Technology-Accessory/dp/B08FBMKWSP

The other item is a Nostalgia Electrics 10-Cup Popcorn & Concession Cart for 22,600 points.

    popcorn.jpg

Again, I think it would be cool as hell in the theater room but I don't know how much it would actually get used and how big of a pain it is to clean out. Also, this would be the only item that could be redeemed as it would leave me with only 400 points left.

Help me, TW! You're my only hope!

That's a tough one, I really think you would be better in the long run with numero uno.

My level of cookery skill ends when there are no microwave directions on the box and I can't barbecue it, so that soos-veed dingus is way beyond me, but the popcorn popper will get used to hell for the first week, and then largely ignored and it is a ROYAL P-I-A to clean.

Cold meat goes into warm water, warm (but hideous) meat comes out perfectly cooked. A quick stint in a pan or on the grill gives it the desired color and char.
That is exactly what I think would happen, which I wouldn't be too terribly upset by, if I'm honest.
This part is what I'm concerned about and is a deal breaker.

I'll keep my eyes open for anything else that catches my attention but the pop corn machine is out.

Definitely the sous vide thingy, sounds like you'd get more pleasure and use out of it.

Also- what the heck do you do for work? I can only imagine the competition that would start at my work (sawmill) for free stuff.

More behind the scenes at a sawmill. I've shown this machine before, our bull saw. Here's a daily shipment of saws to keep that thing cutting. We go through 15-20 saws each shift.

Do they have carbide teeth? I assume they are replaceable?

Yes, carbide replaceable tips. We had a filing/sharpening room to do that in house until recently. Our company bought a complete blade/saw manufacturing shop and had it installed at a sister mill a few towns away. Now we send our saws to them and they send back sharp ones! Same with our chipper knives. We do still do our twin band saws in house due to their size, I'll try and get a pic of that.
