Pretty much everything I've heard is that they suck but it's always decried with "but I saved $100 per tire over brand name tires!!! I'll buy another set". I wonder how much of that $100 diff is truly saved after multiple rebalances

Man breaking through a couple inches of crusty snow really trashes the mpg

Why even put MPGs on there, you'll just always be disappointed to some degree. It's a 1st gen 4x4

I prefer fuel trims for that but I can understand what you mean. I'm pretty in tune with what I should expect per tank miles-wise so if something is off that bad I'll know it anyway

But watching the actual MPG go up/down constantly esp with city driving would be depressing lol.

I bought a set and took them to be balanced. I think two required so much weight the machine couldn't balance them. I returned the set. They looked good but had balancing issues.

Good to know, I’m still 2 sets of tires away from needing news ones. See what’s around then

Yeah, my 6.7l has fuel mpg right in the cluster and I had to get over watching it and trying to min/max every tank of fuel. Part of my traditional christian upbringing heavily emphasized not being wasteful which was manifested by my dad trying to hyper mile everything and participate in every MPG brag-off.

Now I drive how I drive. I pretty much exclusively leave it on the oil/trans temp display now. Check the tank MPG when I fill up or when I'm towing to see how soon I'll need to stop for fuel.

I also got my trans temp light to come on Monday night, so that was cool.

Never had that happen in the middle of the night

fuel trims might be fine but you might have MPG loss due to low tire or dragging brake etc

@eon_blue Some years ago I left a job at a company and took a pay cut to work for a company that I thought was more nimble and progressive. The old company had become somewhat toxic and way too set in its ways. So it hurt for a couple of years but I soon made up for the loss. I had more fun at the new company with a lot less stress. The group that I worked with at the old company were all laid off within two years after I left. So I would have been unemployed during a bad time. The people who kept working took jobs in Poland or Russia. I couldn't have done that.

Unfortunately, as the new company has grown, groups of people moved in with completely different cultures. It's not the same place. I see the same cycle repeating. Companies with toxic work environments lose their ability to be nimble and advance as compared to a company with a generally happy workforce.

Yeah that is sound advice. My current position at the company I'm at is a comfortable one, but it almost feels too comfortable...stress is generally pretty low except for certain times of the month or year when projects come in last minute. Otherwise I have it pretty good here. I think this new job would be a lot more challenging according to what I've read so far. But I don't think that's a bad thing, in fact I think it can be a really good thing. And it will look great on my resume.

The issues really are the pay if I'm still going to be living in CA, and the location - we don't want to live in big city LA much longer but the middle of the desert was not exactly what we had in mind haha. Although I'd be willing to do it for the right job.

Anyway I'm getting ahead of myself really, have the interview in a few hours and we'll take it from there. I appreciate everyone's input :fistbump:
