    Hello Friends,

Those who have done the Cab Mount Chop/Body Mount Chop, did you beat in the pinch weld as shown in these videos?

    upload_2021-3-18_13-20-25.jpg

I was thinking of grinding it down but obviously not grinded flush as to severely impact structural integrity. Does anyone forsee any problems with that? Beating it in just has a brutal and rough appearance (even though it will be covered by paint and mud etc).

Just beat it. Don't want to risk leakage to the interior.

DIY fender liners will cover that up. You’ll need to cut a lot of the oem liner off anyways. I ended up using shelf liner to cover the holes and gaps since it’s strong and flexible.

What are you mounting the DIY fender liners to? Do you have any pictures? That is a great idea actually.

Beat it down. You can cut some slits in it to make it easier then seal it up with some coating spray or silicone. That pinch weld is a joint for the body panel, if you grind it down it can separate and everything can leak into your cab.

Well, you got your answer seven times now and I agree with all of them. Just fold it sideways and then hit it with some flex seal to keep any leaks out.

Beat it in one single piece outward away from the engine bay for maximum clearance with the lowest leak chance. If you wrap a Mini sledge in a rubber bath mat and wrap that in electrical tape you can do it without hurting the paint.

Slight increase in tire clearance from what others have said.

It’ll be the obvious choice once you look at it even though it makes swinging the hammer a little more difficult

I re-used my stock liners but remolded the ridge flat with heat.
