So I got out of work about 3 hours ago and have a quick cig with a co-worker and stroll to my truck. Dome lights come on, dash lights up, turn the key and the motor turns very slowly and doesn't start. I get out and take a look at the battery and the little eye thing is still green. So I push it out of the spot and start pushing as fast as I can and she starts fine that way. I know thats not the best way but when no one has cables I dont have many options. Drive for 2 hours and its running fine and its not throwing any lights. Get home and shut er down for about 30 seconds and try to start her again and......slow turn and wonk kick over. It is the original battery in there, just want make sure there is nothing I am overlooking.

    ideas?

    getting there....
get yourself a new battery. since you have an 05 tacoma...and its the original battery, its ran its course. they are good for around 4 years, then they get to where they wont hold a charge/cells go bad.

Check the battery cables. One of them being loose or corrosion on the terminals can do the same thing.

Believe it or not, Im experiencing the same thing right now. It's sluggish when I go to turn it on. Then when I least expect it, it turns over. I haven't gotten stuck yet. It's been two day with this now. Just waiting for the moment I need to call AAA. I have the original battery at 65k miles. I checked the cables...good. I checked the battery itself (the little display)...and it's green as well. Even when I have someone else turn it on, Im looking at the battery and the icon stays green the whole time. I was thinking it would change color during ignition. Im in the same boat!
