Been cleaning up my place , my Brother will be here this Sunday

 

I don't work. Retired for good three years ago. In 2016 I had a heart attack wrapping a pallet of batteries, and some years later I was doing the same thing and thought, "you're a idiot". I quit that day and went to the house. Best decision I ever made.

My shop onboard the USS Orion was directly above the forward engine room. The noise was incredible sometimes. My hearing suffered over 8 years, and now I here very high frequencies but have problems with low. This thing is almost a dog whistle. LOL

I talked to my Sheriff a couple of weeks ago. June or July I’ll start my 12 months of terminal leave to put me past my anniversary date. Will end up with 33 years behind a badge. Damn that’s a long time!

 

18 1/2 months. I was offered an early buyout last week and I took it.

I will just hit 34 years on the job next September when I retire.

It knocks 3 years and 1 month off what I would otherwise have to do.

 

So it's not really an attic fan. Many refer to them as chief hats or turbines...

I medically retired in 2007 , by that time my body was just worn out and couldn't work at all anymore

 

I'm going to try for 7 more years to get to full retirement.


May only last 5.

I have 15 more years for full retire...I really love my job - middle school/high school band director/percussion instructor - and am actually dreading the day I can not do it anymore...but I can't stand all of the bureaucracy and "non-teaching" BS I have to go through...that might end it a little earlier

Our countdown clocks look very similar. Though I may opt to walk away early if it’s only a difference of a few hundred a month...hope you can make it happen earlier as well.
