2014 4.0 30,000 miles on her now. Bought it in August 2020 with 16,000 miles. Brought the truck in twice for a coolant consumption issue, November 2020 and January 2021. The extended warranty ended in February 2021. I received my Blackstone Labs oil analysis and it shows coolant in the oil.

Going to Toyota tomorrow to put up a fight if I have to.
What are my chances they will cover this either head gasket or head repair?
Any ammunition for my case would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Do you have any dates pre February from Blackstone? It sounds like it will be a hard fight, but you at least have record of bringing it in for the coolant issue. Do your receipts for those visits explain the symptoms? Dealerships are weird but maybe if you talk to the service manager they'd be accommodating for missing it twice. That's crazy low mileage for a head gasket though. I wonder if it's a defective block somehow...

I’d sit down with the service mgr. and calmly talk to him. See if they are willing to cover since they missed it. If they say now maybe do a 50/50 you cover parts if they cover labor. Or maybe they’ll do it at internal rates. See if y’all can work something out. You definitely do not have a lawsuit. I think something can be worked out. Good luck.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
That's crazy low miles for something like that to happen. I have 160,000 on my 2014 and all it consumes is gas.

I would say your only hope is the fact that you had it in for this issue twice before the warranty expired. That shows it was happening during that period and just wasn't identified and fixed. They may tell you you're out of luck, but I think a sternly worded letter from a lawyer might get them to reconsider. Good luck.

No Blackstone pre February. I have all my receipts from the previous dealer maintenance that’s all. . I’m thinking a factory defect on the head. We will see.

Private sale with an extended Toyota warranty that was converted to my name from the original purchaser.

So you only have one oil sample result? I would pull another sample and see what the trend is for the coolant, also to confirm you didn’t have a bad sample for some reason.

Unless he is working for free, you are getting ready to piss money away.

Dealer will probably be less likely to help you there.

When I bought mine last year with a Toyota extended powertrain warranty, I was told that the warranty is NOT transferable if I were to sell the truck.

I would make sure the warranty is still valid.

Mine was transferable and Toyota even charged me $50 to do it. I have the new warranty book that they sent me with my name on it. Definitely valid.
