The ultimate go-to for anti-herb sentiment.

Just fun and games here though. To each their own.

I just want to know how everyone can get through this world and not need some sort of pick me up.

and for the record, I spend all day teaching kids how to manage life.

My first new car was a 1992 Dodge Stealth 5spd. I can tell you that thing will go exactly 134MPH and no faster (I-95 at 3pm weekday too ) after the 1,000 mile break in period... The Trooper was none too happy when I blew by him getting on the highway in Milford/Stratford CT and he finally caught me in West Haven...

When I was in undergrad freshmen/sophomore year in CT I'd make the drive to see my girlfriend at the time back in RI then in MA and hit 100+ on 395 late at night to keep myself awake in my old Lincoln LS. Hit 120 once then 105-110 a couple times. It's fun for sure...100% wouldn't do it in the taco. Wicked oh shit moment once had to drive over a ladder in that thing, baby was juuuuuuust tall enough to avaoid any damage, wicked downpour, truck in front of me drove over it so I couldn't see it. That was a top 5 code brown driving moment for sure.

Been there, done that....2002 MINI Cooper S. 125mph, smooth as silk, with more to give. I wasn't at that speed for long, just long enough to see how it handled at that speed. Didn't see another car in front or behind me.

When I lived up there and we traveled to The south lands 6 to 12 times a year, got comfortable cranking in some spots.

My top speed was 135-140 in my Camaro. Made it from Hanover Mall to Kingston Mall in about 7-8 minutes.

Hit 110 on the desert highway near Las Vegas in a Dodge Stratus RT in 2005 on my wedding/honeymoon trip. Soon as the song "Pink Houses" came on the John Mellencamp tape we bought in a store there (radio was shit) I begged her to let me open it up for a minute.

First night I had the Tacoma I was just going with the flow and looked down to see 90-95. OOPS

Pick me up is a phrase with a lot of different meanings. I had to develop and cultivate more productive ways versus the ones in my 20s which were going to finish me off quick.

Just kipped up for the night at some random rest stop. Right after I park and settle in a woman comes up to knock on my window in uniform. Didn’t see if she was an officer but she was in a shitty car so I am thinking probably just a state employee. Anyway I figure I’m getting the boot.

nope. I backed in. It’s directional parking I need to pull in.

THATS the problem we have tonight. Not I have a bed set up in my truck and am living like a hobo. Nah. That’s fine. But you better pull in.

whatever better angles and don’t have the lights in my eyes now.

I chose the word pick me up for that reason. And there are much better ways than using chemicals to get through life, and besides, just wait some years and the doctors will have you dropping tons of shit every day to keep ya going.

For me, bikes are really what I have to watch myself on, and a big part of the reason I stepped down to the 350. I got my old CBR cranking through some back roads where I grew up. It was a 55 MPH road with a lot of tight turns. Come out of one turn at about 75 and laid into it on the straightest part of the road, got somewhere between 140 and 145 and went into the next corner WAY too hot. Sold that bike and ended up with something even faster and can tell you that the Katana, with a passenger will keep up with a Lambo Mercielago off the line to about 120ish. I'm very happy with my 350. Not going to win any races, but I can try to at every light and still not end up with a ticket

My desire to go fast is why I didn’t get a motorcycle license until I was 40. And my brother picked up a racer bike and asked me to drive it home for him, that day confirmed i could never own anything like that, it’s amazing how quickly the numbers would climb.
