Yeah, Project Farm did some testing on some of those products. I can't remember the results off hand, though. I'd also love to clay bar the truck, but that's very time consuming and tedious and I don't really have a good place to do that.

Clay bars will add to your pinstripe collection, but will remove contamination.

Yeah, I have a friend who offered something around $600 to do paint correction and ceramic coating, which was half off of his normal rate. However, $600 is still a lot!

I definitely believe that, but you're likely filling that stuff in after that since it is a prep step.

You definitely can, but it won't fill in everything. Or just use an iron decontamination spray to help lift the debris from the surface.

Like I mentioned, I did a clay/paint correction once on our 4runner when we bought it new. Now I just wash/ seal and occasionally wax. I can definitely feel some bonded contaminates, but perfection on a vehicle that's driven and parked outside regularly is unrealistic. Especially a black vehicle that shows everything. You're better off leaving some of the bonded junk and adding a wax or sealant. If I clayed and buffed every time it needed it I'd be down to primer in the first month. Most new cars can handle 1 or 2 good clear polishings, before you burn through it.

Plus, new car paint and clear is now water based for environmental factors which makes it extremely soft. Hence, lotsa scratches and pinstripes. Regular washing and the occasional wax/sealant/ceramic is the best solution for protecting and preserving car paint.

I know that's a lot of info, but I thought I'd share it for anyone who might find it useful. :boom:

Got a OEM Sports hood yesterday for my offroad. Clayed and waxed, looks good as new. Gonna install this weekend if weather is good

I have the following SOS button configuration on my overhead button area for my 2020 Taco - and I've been *TRYING* to get the MESO SOS 4 button version seen below, but they are *ALWAYS* out of stock on this thing - does anyone on TacomaWorld have this - that hasn't installed it yet - but would like to sell it?

    Meso_Overhead_SOS.jpg

This is what it looks like when not installed. PM me if you want to sell me yours. Thanks.

IMO the most useful upgrade I've done to my truck is the bed mat.

It's pretty good for a quick and easy shine but I don't think it last longer than maybe 2 rains or a week or so. Then again I live 2 miles from pavement on a long dusty or muddy road. But it does look nice applied on bright paint like this red.

I haven't tried Adams H2O guard and gloss. Though I love Adams quick detailer. I'm not huge into detailing honestly... When I feel really "froggy" I do a quick wash, Adams detailer, P&S beadmaker, then turtle wax ceramic spray on coating... And that's about as far as I ever go.

Looks great, this may just be my next mod. The tailgate immediately becomes a "table" once we get to the campsite. I've already had a few too many close calls trying to balance beers on the stock tailgate.

Grew up on a river and noodling was a blast. It was really fun when we got someone new to go.

Do you happen to have stock suspension and a side profile picture I can see. I am contemplating the same tires. and are you getting any rubbing.
