Ah yes. Century + year old homes often have mysteries and issues just waiting to be discovered. If those walls could talk.

Gotta fly to OK at 5am tomorrow for a wedding this weekend. Get out of work at 2am and bust butt down to the airport two hours away.

In the summer of 1984 when I was a teenager I had a job helping some friends of my father remodel an old house in the city. It was built in 1860s....so even back then it was 120 years old.

My job was basically a mule....whatever shit job no one else wanted to do. I had a great time discovering so many cool things in that house. I found canned vegetables dating from the 1920s...some dried up, others still sealed.

There was a small masonary pond that was probably 12' across, lined with brick. Turned out to be really deep for some reason....like over 6'. We drained with a pump only to discover some ancient wrought iron patio furniture. The pieces were so corroded that some of it fell apart as we lifted them out. But before we touched it you could tell there were a couple of chairs and a table. No idea why or how long that stuff was in there.

Old tools, car parts, an old rotary push mower in the garage. Clothes and furniture in the attic.

    Lotta fun

At 15 years old, maybe the connection is just being stubborn. Those clips and snaps that hold them on are not always finger friendly

The client initially asked me to remove and reinstall the toilet to do the floor (which I'm legally allowed to do). I can't install a new toilet though. The toilet didn't quite feel right as it was a little wobbly and felt like it moved vertically a little. I didn't want to deal with anything beyond that. Glad I pulled in the plumber.

You missed my response to @Delta09 yesterday didn't you?

Edit: If I ever buy something from you and have it shipped, you'll figure out the reason for my username.

    Safe travels man!

Evenin Bill! Yes sir, picked up the head Tuesday after work. He said it was in great shape, so hopefully everything goes back together smoothly. We'll find out this weekend if the new gasket and FIPG come in!

How are things with you man? anything new down your way?

I know what you mean it’s been nice here too. Supposed to be 70 and sunny this weekend, so that will be great!
