I have mostly owned full size trucks with smaller trucks in between. My last was an F350. Prior to that F150 and Ram 1500. One Chevy 2500 and a 1978 power wagon. I am done with full size trucks. I much prefer these mid size trucks.

No need, Toyota still makes the 1HZ inline 6 diesel. You'll barely hit highway speeds, but you'll always get there, haha.

They're definitely more nimble! It's got all the space I need for now and I don't need to tow anything so that isn't a concern for me. Although, I would love a 1973-1979 Ford F-100, 150, or 250

I agree, especially being that you just learned how to use a keyboard and think we should all clap for you...

Otherwise, I don't recall spambots having an MBA and PhD on top of a BSME and more than a decade's experience in automotive engineering. You can tell yourself what ever makes you feel adequate. I'm hitting ignore

I wouldn't respond to any doubters, just know there are probably more like me that google search your username pretty often (for a couple years now) to see what/where you have been posting. I, for one, appreciate you.

I think the requisite economies of scale to deploy such an engine would necessitate applying it to the entirety of the V6 models. Much more likely that the PRO would have a bolt on performance kit (CAI, catback, etc.) on top of the standard powerplant.

The GM twins have a "car" engine in them.

    Check build thread!
I see a lot of speculation here, and not much about the one thing I'm really excited about. The return of something. Something with an F, and a J in its name. And it'll be built to battle the bronco and wrangler.

A plain 70 series landcruiser with solid axles. They are available everywhere except the US market.

V8’s are a dying breed. I’d say a turbo’d 4 banger in the gen 4 is more likely.

    Wouldn't you like to know!
To each their own! I loved my 1st gen and love my 2nd Gen...231,xxx miles on the ODO...no major repairs...damn thing just keeps going. Most reliable truck I've ever owned and I've had this one now about 9 years. I'm having a hard time thinking about trading/selling my 2nd gen just because of how reliable it's been. I think I'll just keep this one forever and add a full size to the fleet for towing & road trips. Not a ford tho :D

No doubt it is reliable! I'm just not a fan of the styling, mostly. I like the larger grille and sharper lines from the 3rd gen.

Reading Carmaker1 posts I focused on the 5.7l V8. Great engine, 401tq @ 3600rpm, great lowend torque curve.

Before buying a 2019 Sequioa 5.7l I looked at TFL's Ike Gauntlet tow test. The TT Ford 3.5l Ecoboost got less MPG on the test than the 5.7l, 3mpg for the TT vs 4.4mpg for the 5.7l. That's at high altitude where a turbo should shine.

I also looked at a TFL 5.7l towing test on I25 vs Silverado Duramax diesel - 11.2mpg for the 5.7, 14.4mpg for the Duramax.

I'm fine with Toyota V8's, if I have a choice in future I would choose a V8 over a turbo or hybrid.

Anybody that doesn't believe that the V8 is going away relatively soon, is not informed. How much you may like it, or how well it did in your 1970s, 1980s truck/car...does not matter now.
