Finally broke down a bought a drill press. Been wanting one for a few years now and never got one. Nothing fancy. Just a porter cable 10 inch.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/152104623434 this is what I’ll probably get along with a decent keyless chuck . It’s mildly heavy duty it will work for most of what want to do .

Hopefully this year I’ll be able to get the ESAB Rebal AC/DC Tig and that drill press that would make me a very happy boy . Or a Powermatic 2000 series table saw with router table extension. All three would be awesome but that pushing it .

    Never heard of them...

I’m thinking if people use them on the drive sprockets of Tanks, there might be something there. Maybe I could finally get my bed bolt off to fix the rattle that’s driving me nuts.

What do you pay for them at surplus? (I’m always leery when prices aren’t obvious on websites)

When you say surplus, are you talking Army/Navy stores and the such?

    https://www.powerhawk.com/swench

    Edit: Prices = Yikes

this thing is pretty sturdy on my work bench. Haven’t even bolted it down yet. I’m going to build a roll cart/cabinet for the drill press and bench grinder(my next purchase) so I can move it around the garage or wherever I need it.

There are cheaper alternatives. The price is usually high when the government is your main customer...

I’ve had this model for a couple of years. My only complaint is the travel is not long enough. I needed a replacement really quick. Since they no longer make the Delta, I went with this. For the small workshop, it does fine.

But with the frequency I do brakes, it'd just be stealing funds from other tool purchases.

I dont do brakes very often I maintain only my own vehicles. I won't use it very often but I dont think Its expensive enough for me to say it took away from other tool purchases though.

Some time back, I was researching evaporative coolers. Haven't purchased one yet, but this brand I liked. I received a 20% discount code by email, and wanted to pass it on here. Free shipping too.
