Good train infrastructure plus good train cleanliness. For a while I worked some days at the tesla fremont factory and took BART and some days at eng hq in palo alto and took Caltrain. BART was typically full of piss shit and needles while Caltrain was typically clean. You can guess which commute was more relaxing.

yeah this week I have kind of had the mindset of "am I just doing what I'm doing to kill time til I feel ready to do what I want to do? :homer:

Thinking about moving has a lot of different factors at this point and I think part of it has been feeling nostalgic for my home town while also not wanting to move and getting caught up in family obligations with parents and sister. My roommate is such a dick every time I talk about wanting to move that I've felt guilty for thinking about it even though I think it would be for the best in most scenarios. I'm starting to realize I do a lot of my projects to keep myself busy during the week so I can go out and live on the weekends. What if I lived somewhere where I could still enjoy the outdoors on week nights? would I drown myself in projects and obligations?

Waiting on some big picture stuff to come down the pipeline this month and I think that will help push me in one direction or the other.

That's pretty much what I had been doing for the last 8 years until I decided to speak out about wanting some change in my life; that's when I said I'll leave CA and move to AZ or TX or something.

Obviously plans have changed, but I'm still moving, still 'resetting' so to speak.

But for too long I was just living, and yeah I was still enjoying life, I didn't have any real large goal set in place.

As caring of a person you are, yeah that's going to suck getting sucked in.

But you've got to remind yourself that you're doing it for You, no one else.

Yeah same, it might just be a lot of dirt though but the paint and interior is real rough....I'm not hardcore enough of a DIY'er to take on the kind of fixing up an old LC would need, at least not right now

New Jersey Transit from my location wasn't bad. Back in the day, it was usually filled with bankers and stock traders that worked in the financial district.

Metro-North had advertizers from Madison Ave. and midtown brokers taking the train to places like Westchester County, Greenwich, and Darien Connecticut.
I remember riding the Metro-North a couple of times and thinking I needed to have been wearing a Hart Shafner and Marx suit.

    Parts of AZ are nice.

For me, TX is a no go. Way too flat. Did almost 9 years there already and got/lost the accent, so I'm good

Speaking of upgrades, any leads on a badass coupon for that winch?

Something tells me you'll get the winch before I do.

    AZ probably has its spots,

I'd only go to Texas if I was offered at 2 weeks on 2 weeks off type job, and it'd have to pay well.

I have nothing against Texas or Texans especially, some of the nicest people I've lived amongst from what I recall. But the flat land for endless miles is too depressing for me.

It does have areas that aren't like that but it's such a huge state you can drive all day to get there depending where you live.
